What is your opinion of the Talladega 2-car hookup?

General

I still love the 4 restrictor plate races at Daytona & Talladega just as much as the bullrings in bristol, Martinsville, & Richmond. Robbie is right, the object is to win, by any means at your disposal, within the "rules".(and there's waaaayy too many of them, I mean, ...seriously...the double yellow line thing...out-of-bounds?!...awww, come on, maaan!! If it's paved, its legal, if it's grassy, it could be ugly... or awseome!! anybody remember #3? But my point is this, the two-car breakaway is just as exciting to witness as the 190 mph double-file slot-car races that we are used to seeing there...if NASCAR wants to break up the large pack-racing, they need to add weight to the cars, cut the spoilers down a little, and PLEASE, individualize the factory bodies, closer to the showroom models...after all it is NASCAR, not IROC...either way I still tune in to the races at those 5 tracks as it seems the action is more exciting at the traditional tracks...if I need a nap I'll tune in to Chicagoland, Kansas, and my favorite yawner, California(oooh, yeah, that's called the Auto club speedway now)

women of the future??--maybe!!

Current NASCAR

Repeating this weekend's top news!! Overshadowing the recent buzz with the addition of two female drivers to to the ranks of big league stock car racing, the sanctioning body, in response to marked drops in both race attendance & viewer percentages, has announced a change in the iconic acronym that has symbolized the sport since its inception over 60 years ago... The unidentified source( we'll call him B.F.) said that while the acronym letters will not change, the updated phrase will reflect, not only the current economic climate, but also the growing need for 'change' & renewed enthusiam in the sport...so...Ladies & Gentlemen, presenting the new NASCAR(Nice A*s Sure Can Alter Ratings) "this ain't gonna be your daddy's NASCAR".....but seriously, though, evrybody deserves a fair chance in racing, and while I admire Danica's (or anybody's)courage for racing Indy cars(@230+mph) ...We all know stock cars are a waay different beast to be ridden well, there's waayy more variables to be processed in terms of concentration & awareness of proximity to others(there's no constant 3-wide, fender-to-fender passing in Indy cars) ... stockers require waay more aggressive steering input on average...smaller slender women, like Danica, may be @ a physical disadvantage b4 they start. So will they make most of the races, yeah...the new NASCAR will see to that. Will they be successful?...well...Dale Jr will lose that Most Popular Driver Status for sure, Danica will take that away very soon...but winning races?, ...I'm not a chauvinist, but... uuuuuhh...nope

y'all say what you want, she's a whiner, and yeaahh it's a PR boon for NASCAR(which will now stand for Nice A*s Sure Can Alter Ratings) but I sure would bump her from behind going into turn 1, turn 2, turn 3, turn 4, turn 5, turn 6...oh, uh.... right, she's just there because she uh... can err, ummm...drive a racecar real good, see & therfore, she deserves the right to s-s-s-s-slide down.. hmm-mmmh... into the seat, yeah, and get a, uh,.. firm, Tight grip on the steering wheel. She needs a little, um ... t-ttt-t-training, thats all. ........oh, wait.. where was I? Yeah, man she hasn't even come close to earning a ride in Cup!! What is Brian France thinking by allowing this to happen?... I bet I know, turn7, turn 8, turn 9, ........

That's pretty wild... so when u hear someone say that girl's a 'dead ringer' for marilyn monroe,we all know that it means a look-a-like, but how did they look upon a person like that in ...say...the time of the witchhunts, w/ fear? or even anger, thinking that the person rose from the dead? ...Hmmmn... cool info, Jim...kinda like the 'Book of Lists' type stuff, keep 'em comin' Jim Wilmore said:
1.In the old world poor folks built their roofs out of straw and grass...when it rained the grass would become moldy, rotten and slick. Cats that crawled up on the roof would slip and fall through the rotten grass hence" It's raining cats and dogs.
2. During this period folks used a big bath tub and all the family would bath in the same water, starting with the men, the boys, girls, mother and finally the babies. By the time the baby was washed the water would be so dirty that the baby would be the color of the water hence: Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
3. Folks would get so drunk drinking ale out of lead based cups that the alcohol would disolve enough lead that it would poison the person and put the person in a drunken coma. The towns folk would pick them up and deliver the body to the family where they would lie on the kitchen table for 3 days to see if the person awoke: Hence the word "Wake" as in modern day viewing of the body.
Sometimes the person was presumed dead and would be buried alive. In times of floods coffins would occasionally wash out and when the coffin was opened there would be scratch marks on the inside where the person was buried alive. To solve the problem of burying someone alive the grave digger would attach a a bell on a pole above the buried coffin. On the bell a string was attached and was inserted into the coffin, if the presumed dead awoke they could pull the string and ring the bell where the person on watch would dig them up, hence "Saved by the bell" and "Graveyard shift". If the person was in fact dead the bell would not ring, hence "Dead ringer"
These are true facts and now you know the rest of the story

I don't know if this little phrase is 'region-specific', I heard it alot growin up in Va. Actually it's a complementary pick-up line for women, "Girl, I wish God would turn you into some seeds so I can plant a whole field of you!!"

how 'bout these? "Now that's slicker than whalesh*t on an iceberg!" or "It's rainin' like a cow p*ssin' on a flat rock" or my mom's favorite cliche when she saw some approaching bad weather, "Looks like it's comin' up a cloud" I actually love that one

hey, Devin, That one just doesn't EVEN make any sense, huh? through a little redneck research, the best answer that I could come up with is another question..."who would want to be the firefighter to put that kinda fire out?" Devin said:
I've been doing this and that, and at this moment I find myself wondering... "shoot fire and save the matches." Can someone tell me what this means, exactly.
