Slim Shady update

General

Just wanted to let all of you know I talked to Slim today and he sounds pretty good considering. His speach is very slurred and he says he still can't use his hand but he is moving his arm a little. They have had him up walking some also. This is all promising. I talked with his wife in length and she says that they may move him soon to a rehab center to help with his recovery. He still needs all of our prayers and thoughts. He is strong willed and I am sure he will come out of this with flying colors. If you would like to send him something his wife said to send it to thier house (address below). Thanks to all of you for your conserns and thoughts and God Bless all of you.

Thank you

Yes I am still alive!!!

General

Hey everyone,

I just want all my friends here at RR to know that I am still alive. I hate that I haven't had time to get to this site too much here lately, but with work and racing and all the PR work I have been doing with the East Coast Flathead Ford Racing Association, I have very little time anymore. This will change soon as our race schedule is winding down. I miss listening to the show on Tue nite and chating with all you fine people. Just dont give up hope on me. I will be here soon in full force! I will also have some great stories to tell you about the racing season. God bless all of you and I will talk to you soon.

East Coast Ford Flatheads Run The "Little Rock"

General

I just want to send a big THANK YOU out to Andy Hillenburg, Robert Ingram, and all the staff at Rockingham Speedway for having us down Saturday July 24th. This was a very hot day to have a race, but you could not tell that from the smiles on the drivers faces. This is a fantastic facility and Robert and his staff made it enjoyable for everyone. The half mile track at the "Little Rock" made for some fast times for these old cars but the only caution that came out was when yours truly had to try to make it (un-successfully) off the track due to engine failure. The old cars ran 20 laps with Johnny Johnson of Tobaccoville, NC winning the Modifieds and Kenneth Tuttle of King NC winning the Sportsman class. Our own Jimmie (Slim Shady) Woodard came in third in the sportsman class. (You go Slim) I also want to thank Jim Wilmore and Louie Hill for making the trip to take some laps with us. I hope that we can go back in the very near future to run again. This was a blast!

Dirt.....its not just for farming...for this girl...anymore

General

I just want to thank Bobby Williamson for inviting the Flatheads down to Dublin speedway Saturday night. It was themost fun I have had at a race track in a long time. My first time on dirt will not be my last time. After the race I was ready to go again! I hope that we can get out two groups together again and have as much fun as we had at Dublin. Thanks again Bobby.

Are things turning around??? SoBo had full stands.

Local and Regional Short Track Racing

Allen, a friend, and myself went to South Boston on Sat. to see the Modifieds and Late Models run, and I was amazed at the crowd that was there. It was 20.00 to get in and I thought that the stands would be looking empty, but to my surprise there were not many seats that were not taken. Hats off to the SoBo crew for promoting a great event. It may have been because of the Mad House program butI dont think everyone was there because of that. I hope this is a sign of things to come that we will be filling stands everywhere. We need to have a great summer and a great season. Is anyone else seeing things picking up?

East Coast Flathead fundraiser a success

General

Saturday's fundraiser at Martinsville was a success. The Relay for Life raised over 800.00. It was a great time and we got to meet many race fans from everywhere. Tom Corns topped of the event with a drive,(that I am not sure was legal), down 220! I want to thank everyone who came out and for everyone involved. It was a great time. Also the fact that we made it onto the Speed Chanel was a plus.

I had just turned the race on when the wreck happened. it was on of the worst wrecks I have seen. I will be praying that Larry will pull through and he will be ok. He is a tough guy and I hope the best for him.
