Let us remember that in the driver's meeting it was specifically stated that no one shall do anything to alter the outcome of this race.

They always advise all driver's to be aware of who they are racing with and try to not create any

thing that would interfere with their position in the race if they are a Chase driver.

This has always been stated for the Chase races and not repeated during the regular races before the Chase starts.

Don't question me on why not all races. It has just always been this way.

I believe that NAPA was glad to pull the plug on MWR. They wanted to get out from under that $18,000,000.00 a year on one car. Who else in Cup has an evey race year round sponsor?

I also happen to like Mikey and DW. I like their TV jobs. Mikey really is a good driver Tim.

It was stated in the driver's meeting that in no way will anyone do anything that will alter the final results of this race. There is no gray area here....just black and white.

Maybe things were done in the past and there was no penalty for it but they stated....."this race."

This was a big race as it set the field for the chase. Like the chase of lump it. It is what it is.

But it is not the rest of the story Leon. As the song goes, :"I guess you had to be there.": I was there. The only working part of the still when it was raided was a barrel of mesh "cooking", (fermenting.) There was no hunter as the story tells. But a disgruntled female.???? Or was it a male??? Lamar Brown gave me a guided tour of the still after it was destroyed. See me at the MGR Reunion Aug 31 and I will tell you the whole story. I put nothing in writing. Right Johnny M. ??

Let us not forget Bob Burcham. He was actually from Rossville, Ga. he was listed most of the time as being from Chattanooga. He was track champion at Middle Ga. Raceway. He also ran some GN, now Cup, races but raced mostly in the LMS series. Bob was a great fiend of ours. We miss him.
