Part of the story with this photo is that for what ever reason Junies FORD did not make the race. HE was listed as the car owner pirely for Winston CUP owner points. Al also lent his car to Digard Racing at Pocono after Waltrip wrecked the 88 Chevy Caprice. Digard too the hit in owner points but Darrell was able to maintain his driver points by being able to start that race.Ricky or his father could fill in the blanks.

I have looked at several videos of Daytona and Talladega from years ago and the key is that the cars could not stay on the bottom creating a real chess match. That was real racing. What do we call it now ?

The draft was significant back in the day but now the cars are stuck to the track needing clean air. The dynamics have changed three fold relating to chassis, tires and aero.

Slow down the cars, take the junk off, bring Wilkesboro back and get after it.

Put chassis back into play and someone may win race by two laps ...oops ...rather we may see some great racing.

I think some are missing the point of this. NASCAR does not want to suspend drivers and crew but amphetamine is a CDS. AJ needs to speak up.

The deal with Tim Richmond was sad to say the least and even if NASCAR threw the black ball Richmond was not forth coming about his situation. He became to sick to drive the car period. Does anyone remember this ? Tim pulled it together and snapped off two victories then again he became too sick to drive.

Personnally my perception of Tim Richmond is that he is a legend and was a great talent regardless of what happened years ago. The key is that there are two sides to a story and we should know this.

AJ knows what happened and he will handle it and just maybe the Dinger will come through this in good shape.
