And forgive us out trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. (Methodist version).
Awesome Ray! Congratulations. It is always very nice when I see people I think so highly of getting recognized for all they do!
Absolutely prayers from here. Let Jo know the prayers will continue.
It would be awesome to have the banquet in Charlotte. Even more awesome would be having the banquet to honor the winners and NOT so exhibition of Hollywood or Vega "talent" and I use that word very loosely. I think most race fans are interested in their drivers and crews and NOT such "entertainment" as was provided in Vegas. A couple of good county music acts would do. I somehow feel most of the drivers and crews would agree with me. Watching the audience at this year's banquet would suggest that from the looks on the faces of those the camera panned. But, alas, as those of you wiser than I have pointed out, makes too much sense.
Dave, you've been there so you know this article, although nicely written, hardly scratches the surface of all you can see at Memory Lane, or experience with your other senses. My first visit, however many years ago it was, four or five I think, I was speechless for the first 15 minutes and for me that is a huge accomplishment. Just ask Jeff about that! I visit as often as I can because I always see something I didn't see before. There is just that much in there. Not to mention our own RacersReunion Hall of Fame is located there as well.
Alex does an awesome job displaying everything and keeps the entire premises neat. Although he is a soft-spoken man, you can sense his passion for the sport just being around him.
Racing has been such a part of my life for more than 60 years now. When I visit Memory Lane, it is just THAT. A walk down memory lane of my life. Sometimes I find myself standing before a certain car and I can actually see that car roaring around Darlington, or Daytona, or some other track where I watched it race.
I hope to drop in on Alex again soon. Every fan with a memory of how it was when the sport was different, needs to visit Memory Lane. For those who weren't there for what we old timers call the "good old days" need to drop by for a visit so they can see from where this sport came.
I love that place!!!
I hope to see those of you close to Mooresville tonight at the Stocks for Tots. Few things in life touch me as deeply as a child in need. In some small way I like to think my being there may help just one child somewhere. Stocks for Tots does more than provide for a better Christmas. Its services provide life itself in many instances for these kids. Well worth the time to be there. Besides, check out www.stocksfortots.com for the list of folks who will be there to meet you. A very impressive list to say the least. Come on out to The NASCAR Institute in Mooresville and enjoy. Several drivers from the past will be hanging out at the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame on Knob Hill Road in Mooresville from about 12:00 until 3:00. Come by and have some quality time with some of the pioneers of the sport.
Wonderful Chase!!!! Thanks for sharing. The King is really good at making people feel special.
Very sorry to hear this news. What a wonderful man was Bill. Prayers to his family and friends.
A great champion! Well deserved. I may even suffer through the awards banquet for the first time in about five years just to see what Brad has to say. The entertainment for the past several years has been, for the most part, disgusting.
