Penske Ford Engines Coming From Roush-Yates

Current NASCAR

I have a hard time thinking of Penske bowing down to Rousch. Guess you have to pay the price to be a part of the Ford team. I would like to see Richard Petty Motorsports go back to Dodge but so far that is not in the picture although I know things change at a moments notice. Keep my fingers crossed on that one I guess.

How About That Gaggle of Younguns at Iowa?

Stock Car Racing History

Thanks Dave. I was working on a theme for the Legendtorial tonight and had already started, having completed two of the usual five page writing. I was going in this direction addressing the issue of the younger guys and gals coming up without the big money and you have given me a little something to add. As for Eddie Munster, I think you have a good point. I have been compared to Herman Munster so many times I started to go by Herman for awhile. I just wasn't tall enough to pull it off.

Johanna Not Trying to be Next "Danica" - Starts 1 spot ahead of GoDaddy Girl Today

Current NASCAR

The "next" Danica??????? The current Danica has better show something more than she has before the other young ladies aspiring to race have a desire to become the "next" Danica. Ms. Long is quite the driver from what I've seen of her and the fact that she is racing with probably 1 one-hundredth of the financial backing the current Danica has, I would think Ms. Long can be proud of what she has done.

LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS, OH MY! NO, CHICKENS AND COWS AND SWIMMERS

Administrative

Join the show tonight at 7:00 p.m. Racin' Through History should entertain the race fan for sure. It is called "The Goat Rodeo", I assume due to the remarkable resemblance of one member of the crew to a goat, but tonight The Legend will talk about Cows, Chickens and Swimmers, among other things. Join us and see what happens.

Kyle and Kyle spend time together

Current NASCAR

That video is well worth the time it takes to view. I have watched it twice. Jeff Gilder jokingly said last year that I would become a Kyle Busch fan one day. You know, that may have just happened. Not that I'll necessarily pull for him on the race track but when I watch that video I see a very special Kyle Busch. Oh, sure, with ESPN and Public Relations people setting all that up, it's easy to say it's all a phony Kyle Busch, but watching the segment with the two Kyles on top of the hauler during the truck race says "it's for real". TMC, thanks for sharing that. Made my day in more ways than one.

Devastating News--Ron Pestana Dies in a Race Car

General

This is indeed sad news. When Ron and his group were at The Historic Columbia Speedway a couple of years ago, Ron, his group, and I walked around the speedway on the Thursday night candlelight walk and I had an opportunity to talk with him that entire half mile. He was certainly a man full of talent and full of life. In fact, I had no idea he was in his 50s at the time he seemed so full of energy. He and I corresponded a few times after the Columbia event but, as always seems to happen, he gets busy, I get busy and the communication got less and less. May God bless and comfort Ron's family and friends. I cannot imagine the void left in the lives of those who were close to the man.

Lynda Petty's Hard Fought Race

General

Lynda Petty has always been a most awesome lady. I remember her feeding me turkey breast sandwiches many times back in the day if I was at a race by myself which did happen from time to time. I pray for her every day. She and Richard are very special.

REX WHITE

Administrative

Just a note for everyone about Rex White. I saw him yesterday in Spartanburg and he is in a wheelchair due to a broken leg. He is doing fine and, being the man he is, you can't keep him down. Just wanted everyone to know. Rex is one of the finest guys around but nothing slows him down.
