Did Legend Share Notes With Baseball All-Star Mike Schmidt?

General

Dave, I can assure you I don't share anything with baseball players. Long story there as to my strong dislike of that sport but it involves my young days and a little league coach who told me to go home, burn my uniform and not even to come back to the field as a spectator. I was THAT bad. But I actually wrote the Legendotiral after church Sunday so I didn't know about the thoughts the "batty" guy expressed.

SC/NC Markets Top Daytona TV Ratings

Current NASCAR

Just heard this morning that the telecast of the 400 was the 5th rated show in the overall weekly ratings last week. I wonder how that equates with the boring racing? I'm sure the huge wrecks and that action was an attraction for many of those watching. Admittedly, that is a draw for many fans, old and new. I was never into that. I have always liked RACING, not WRECKING. If I was into watching wrecks, I would go sit on the overpass over I-126 during rush hours and see all the action going on there.

Rex White: Why I decided to be a racer

Stock Car Racing History

Rex White certainly made a good choice. The world of stock car racing would be missing a great person and huge personality, not to mention a very talented race driver, had Rex decided on another career path. I enjoy each and every time I get to be around Rex. Awesome guy!!!!

HUGE Decline in NASCAR Tix Sales

Current NASCAR

Dave, your quiz for hires qualifies me to be the head honcho at NASCAR. I'm sure YOU are over qualified. So where does that leave us? Watching on tv when we have time I guess. I miss it. But I miss Mayberry too.

Allmendinger suspended for failing drug test

Stock Car Racing History

Surprisingly, our local sports guy said on the news last night, that NASCAR considers things such as cold medicine, pain medicine, and even over-the-counter sleep aids as abusive substances. It is surprising because racing hardly ever gets coverage on that station. The sports reporter stated "It is important to stress that NASCAR considers.........and then he went into the long list of over-the-counter items considered banned substances by NASCAR. Guess Goodys Powers are ok because they have paid NASCAR to be there. Let's wait and see that the substance is before passing Judgment on A.J.

25th Carolinas Celebration of Liberty in Columbia, SC

General

Dave, this event is top notch, absolutely top notch and all done by church members. It is also an event that is much better seen on tv as the sound is better and you can see more. But I know what you mean by seeing it in person.

#3 Poised for Return to Cup Circuit?

Stock Car Racing History

In my humble opinion (and that's not easy being The Legend), it is time the Richard Childress number 3 returns to the track. It has been gone too long. Sure, Dale, Sr. made it famous and copyrighted the style thanks to his wife. However, my take differs a little. When The King retired, he put Rick Wilson in number 44, not wanting to put the pressure on Wilson to run 43. NASCAR allegedly told Richard that he either run the 43 in 1994 or lose the number. I always understood NASCAR owns the numbers and it always bothered me that the 3 was unofficially retired when no other number has been. Just saying............

For The Legend (Or anyone else that wants to see) - How to Scare DW

Stock Car Racing History

Thanks Cody. Enjoyable. But, if being surrounded by mirrors doesn't scare the hell out of D.W., I can't think of anything that would.
