THE 100th WIN FOR RICHARD CHILDRESS by a driver thats
General
I, too, believe Richard Childress to be a man of class and that was before he practiced fists exercises on the Candy Man. As I watched the end of that race, after hearing the commentators extol the virtue of Trevor Bayne helping Jeff Gordon because Jeff taught him so much at Daytona, I see Trevor duck to the inside and leave Jeff hanging out there apparently, from what the commentators said, was because NO Ford driver was to help any other driver that wasn't driving a Ford. I know Trevor did what he had to do, but to me that was low life. But thinking back over all my years of being around racing it always seemed to be Ford that cried the loudest, screamed the most, and generally bought their way into whatever they wanted. But anymore that really doesn't matter. What we saw today in Talladega was not racing as I have always thought it to be. What it was exactly escapes my ability to describe at this writing. Duck Boy did a good job of padding his lead but is that a racer? I think not, but it worked. So, I guess., rather than ruffle his feathers, I'll say "good job Duck Boy". Well, four races to go and the 2011 season is over. It started with promise when Trevor won Daytona, but it seemed. for the most part., to go down hill from there. I really think I am losing something here. I watched every lap of today's race, didn't miss a second of it and it still leaves me wondering what it was I was watching. Will I watch the remaining four races of this season? I am seriously doubting it at this time. I always loved Martinsville but I just don't know. And as for those other three tracks, well, they hold nothing for me. Looks like I'll have some free time for other things.
