NASCAR Drivers White House Bound / UPDATE.... Several Decline Invitation

Somehow this lacks the impact of the Number 43 Plymouth sitting on the White House Lawn all those years ago. I still have that picture around her somewhere. I'll have to dig that out. I order to avoid politics and problems here, I would just say that I hope the White House will take great pains to get things right, occassionally. Surely it is not that difficult for someone to count to FIVE. I mean, give me a break, you have that many fingers on one hand.

Someone please educate the poor folks in Baltimore that Willy T. Ribbs is NOT the Jackie Robinson of racing. To overlook Wendell by making such a statement is a usual thing for folks so close to D.C.

Tim Richmond Won Southern 500 25 Years Ago Today

My God!!! Twenty-five years ago? In some ways it seems like yesterday. In other ways it seems like 100 years ago. I miss Tim Richmond. I miss Tim Flock too. Both those Tims participated in the glory days, or good old days of racing. Almost appropriate there is no Tim in Cup racing these days. Thanks for posting. Love memories like this, and yes, I was there too that day.

Getting Waltrips to Their Old Kentucky Home

Who thinks anyone may go back after the first debacle? Promises were made for that race too and look what happened. I wish them well, but this boy ain't never heading to Kentucky.

Let's get Larry Frank in the Moorseville Hall of Fame

What an awesome competitor Larry Frank was. I love the memories of the 1962 Southern 500 and watching him run, win, and only he, a a few others, knew he had won until much later. Hope Larry goes in the HOF very soon.
