LET'S PUT JEFF GILDER IN THE RACE

General

Hello to all my "straight-line" friends.

When you have a minute, go over to Stock Car Racers Reunion and check out the Forum Post I entered this morning regarding putting Jeff Gilder in a racecar for the November 27th event in Rockingham, North Carolina. We all know the passion Jeff shows for our benefit here on Racers Reunion/Drag Racers Reunion/Stock Car Racing Reunion, and we know Jeff still has a passion for racing. This is our chance to give Jeff another opportunity behind the wheel. Check out the post and let me hear from you.

Thanks,

Tim

TODAY WE REMEMBER --- TOMORROW WE RACE

Stock Car Racing History

Beautiful picture Johnny and the words speak truth. I was absolutely disgusted and angry when I heard the head football coach of The University of South Carolina say in a press conference yesterday that "Thanksgiving is just meal" and that it's time to get back to work. Of course, I haven't been impressed with this coach at all and that just sealed my dislike of him. I could not believe anyone would say something like that.

Thank you, Johnny, for pointing out the obvious; that THANKSGIVING is more than "just a meal". Coach Boom, you may want to take a lesson in history.

Passing of Joe Frasson

Stock Car Racing History

Another library burned to the ground, and a good one he was. Loved his style about everything.

Joe Cawley dies

-RacersReunion® OUTREACH

Joe was the guy who was quiet more than boisterous. A humble man with a knowledge of photography and an enthusiasm for photographing all things racing that knew no limits. Never really saw Joe in a bad mood. He always knew what he was doing and why he was doing it, something I admire in a man. Joe will be deeply missed by his family and his family includes the AIRPS group. His passion for that group ran deep and will be greatly missed. He did the work but never wanted the credit. I will miss Joe. Prayers to the family.

Bill, I did have the yen to throw that pun in there. I would say he devil made me do it, but she's hiding out in a basement in her New York mansion. As for the infusion to offset the empty seats, I just don't know.

I do know that Monster Energy is one of the front runners for the Cup Series sponsorship. I had never had a Monster until an event I did just before the 600 this year when Monster came around and gave us all a big can to drink. I drank mine and it tasted ok, was refreshing, but it didn't boost my energy. Got a second can and still didn't boost my energy. Hope it works for NASCAR.

Take care my friend and stay away from fires!!!

You're probably right Alex, but here's mine. Giving Cousin Carl his first AND in a TOYOTA, serves a big purpose, including the yen to have cash passed to NASCAR.

AN OLD AFRICAN PROVERB

Stock Car Racing History

My mother gave me a "Daily Guidepost" for Christmas the first year it was published (1982 I think). I read the daily devotion each morning and from time to time pick up some interesting information to go along with the devotional for the day. Today's entry included an old African proverb that says "when an old woman dies, a library burns down". Took me maybe five seconds to grasp the meaning of that statement but once I did, I immediately equated it to every time we lose a legend and hero of the sports younger days, a library burns down.

We need to keep putting the "library" on a digital platform so the loss of the building will not also mean the lost of the data. We have been doing that here for a long time. Maybe we need to speed it up a bit as more libraries are burning each month.
