Jeff Gordon to retire

Current NASCAR

Yep, it is officially stated by Jeff himself on his page. The upcoming 2015 season will be his last full time ride. He doesn't rule out selected events post "retirement".

Food for Thought....The Last Generation?

Stock Car Racing History

There is so much truth to this post it is really scary. My three grandsons know about racing and they like to go with me from time to time, but it is not their passion. So sad.

Charlotte Begs Banks to Forgive $21 Million NASCAR Hall of Fame Loan

General

Johnny, tune in to the Legendtorial Tuesday night as I am, in part, addressing this very issue. Bobby, I truly do not believe this is NASCAR's White Elephant. But then I was never in the world of high finance. I only know what I'm told by sources who should know.

Racing Through History - Tuesday Nights

Administrative

With Rex White and John Havac both appearing on this past Tuesday's show, I think it can be said that we were, indeed, "Racing Through History". I listened to both interviews with great interest and was duly impressed by both. What do you all think about this past Tuesday's show? One of the best? Would you like more such shows as that one? Would love to hear from you all.

I am not in charge of programming nor producing the show and what little part I do contribute is very minimal, but I was really proud to be a part of a show that presented listeners with that I thought were really great representations of history.

Sprint will be out. Who will be next?

Current NASCAR

I would really love to see Coke come into the sport as an official "sponsor" of the Cup. Perhaps they could rename the cup to "the can". Even better, how about the "Coke Zero Can"? Seriously, all the news coming out this week has been bordering on bad for NASCAR, something I hate to see. Does seem NASCAR always comes out ahead, i.e. Nationwide to Xfinity.

IS NASCAR GOING F-1 CRAZY?

Current NASCAR

When I first read the press release on these new rules (or lack of rules) I thought perhaps the guys in Daytona were confusing Christmas season with April Fool. Apparently not. Wonder how many drivers are going to accept having less than five lugs on the wheel? As for cameras to monitor pit stops, I see an awful lot of "wiggle room" for NASCAR to manipulate a race by misreading what the camera appears to indicate.

Tracks removing seats, NASCAR cutting the number of officials at the track, and fewer lug nuts required. Is the sport in trouble? Oh well, what else is to be said?
