Metal Shaping Class Coming to Rock Hill, SC

Stock Car Racing History

Thanks, Jeff. I did want it to seem to be an advertisement, but this is a rare opportunity and I wanted my friends to be the first to know about it. I already have four folks signed up, and so four spots remain. This is indeed a rare opportunity to being exposed to one of the worlds 'masters'. I would be more than happy to write a small article for this site. In addition, If some folks would like to get together, I would be willing to open my shop to a group visit.

See above link for some older pictures of the shop that I currently work in.

Metal Shaping Class Coming to Rock Hill, SC

Stock Car Racing History

I have been awarded the opportunity to host a world class metal shapers training class at my shop here in Rock Hill, S.C. Peter Tommasini , generally thought of as Australia's finest panel shaper, is coming to the US and putting on six training classes, generally directed at the beginner, but expands to the interests of those in attendance. Peter strated at the age of 14 in Italy, and has done this work to dtae. He is about 65 years old presently.

It is a 4-day class and the tuition is $650. Materials and tools are provided, as is lunch each day. I have attended one of Peters classes and can vouch for his skills at instructing. He primarily uses only a hammer and a wooden stump and the English wheel, so that skills learned at the class. the class will be limited to 8 attendees, and I already have 4 signed up.

I have to pre-pay Peter, so I ask that to secure your spot you provide payment at your earliest opportunity. PayPal to wildcad@comporium.net , or mail to:

If you are an auto repair or restorer, there may never be a better opportunity to learn from a world class metal shaper like Peter Tomassini.

Here is a link to Peter's website: http://www.handbuilt.net.au/

I hope this is not out of line on this site. I feel that it might be of some interest to one / others here.

Buddy's Gone

Stock Car Racing History

RIP Buddy. When I got the car from Bud Moore for Dale to drive at Charlotte, it was a car that Buddy had driven previously and he was most gracious to stop by and give us some tips on that particular car/chassis. He was always fun to be around and provided us all with many pleasant memories.

Somebody has some SEVERE psychological issues

Current NASCAR

Gentlemen: there is another option here. Rather than comment and point out the frailties and perceived failings of others, you also have the option to infuse this and other sites with an abundance of platitudes and congratulatory comments that would celebrate the goodness and accomplishments of others. Otherwise, you are only adding lubricant to the very slippery slopes that you are commenting on.

RIP Jabe Thomas

Stock Car Racing History

Please add my condolences to Ronnie and the family as well. I had the distinct pleasure of being a friend of the 'Clown Prince of NASCAR'. It wasn't all that easy for me when I arrived in NASCAR, and although Jabe never had much himself, he was always willing to share a sandwich, a cookie or a soft drink. He was particularly adept at find low cost eateries when on the road, and would let me tag along on occasion. The very first race car built out of my White Crown Engineering shop was a Vega for Ronnie. It did quite well. Jabe always had a great attitude and had constant smile on his face.

R.I P. my friend.

Tim, another reason for me to admire your vision and your courage. You are right on!

Perry, my friend. Let it go brother. Not everybody is perfect, but your post reads like you are in control of all decisions concerning those things that effect your own life. In his lifetime, Tim did not harm anybody, or any relative,in your lifetime.

If the US were to demand that the multiple millions of dollars in financial aid to Japan be returned, should it be divided up among only those with 'pure' American heritage? If we were all the same race, age, intelligence, color and 'smarts. it would be very boring existence. Celebrate our differences!

My opinion bares no more credence than yours, but as your friend, I am submitting my thoughts on this matter.
