the mature fan base is still there - what they are having trouble with is attracting the younger gen x as fans - they are going to pull out all the stops - shows concerts more entertainment type atmosphere and more gimmicks to the races .
i agree with you - ive seen some of nascars marketing plans so get ready for more gimmicks - it will include more shows concerts and more carnival atmosphere .
i wasnt at shelby - but i was at concord both times stick and carl got together - also i was at carolina when kirby allen spun stick off turn two bending the clip on the 57 chevelle - o.l nixon had them go get the chevy II - stick started in the rear and finished third - also about this time there was a blue mustang number 15 - stick drove this car just a few times at carolina - do you remember it .
i was at the shrine 100 when stick won it - i think it was the second annual - i have somewhere a few pictures of the number four camaro after it was repainted blue with a white top - they were taken at concord - i wish i had a picture of stick in ralphs number eight - you know stick drove the dunlap cream color number fifty a few times - i saw him start in the rear at concord in a big race and drive it to the front only to lose oil pressure with ten to go - i really appreciate you posting the number four camaro - i was also wondering if you know any history on the car - also just wondering if you remember stick driving a day race at concord in a cream color number 92 - i think it was once a pavement car because it still had the back glass in it - a friend of mine says it may be the four camaro repainted - i dont know - they were about the same model - your restore car looks awesome - cant wait to see it in person .
johnny - thank you so much for posting this - do you happen to know any history on this car .
does anyone remember this car - it was yellow with number four camaro - in the earley seventies he won the shrine one hundred in it - latter it was painted blue with a white top still number four sponsored by roberta factory outlet - does anyone have a picture of this car - i had a few but cant put my hands on them now .
actually the x marks indicate how many times times the still has been run off - the first run is one x - if made right it is about 190 or better proof - it will burn blue if you light it and your car will run on it - the next batch wont be as strong hence the xx marking - and so on - the shine is never poured back into the still after it is run off - about four or five runs is all you can get with a good proof - after five runs a good still will down to about 60 proof - thats whats known as the bottom of the barrel - you can shake it and look at bead - the smaller the bead the higher the proof - you can set a jar in the sun for awhile and if it turns a little cloudy or a little yellow tint - they didnt use enough sugar when making it - the good stuff made right wont give you a hangover as bad as bonded whiskey will .
it all stinks the way they bought her way in to daytona 500 last year - driver points or owner points and buying points which is really what it is - is a sham - she was no doubt a dissapointment to nascar and all involved - even when her nationwide car was the class of the field she wrecked it - she will need all the help she can get from nascar - as far as roty yeah nascar will throw her that bone - she is no where near the driver reutimann is- someone is deep in the pocket with her - roty isnt what it used to be - ol sue patrick and the go go go daddy marketing machine .
