LOL, too funny, Robbie!! I had forgotten about that guy pregnant w/ a beachball, I don't know who he was, he wasn't a car owner, crew member(huh? how?), track official(doubtful), or a driver(there's no friggin' way!!) but just like the flagstand, he was at every race at Langley Speedway. Maybe he was the official fat guy there. That's gotta be it...OK, now just stand right there and try to look fat.

The guy in the photo was a local fixture. He claimed to be able to cause a car to spinout, Blow up, Get a flat by "Hexing it", but I Can't remember his name.

Yes. A lot of folks at Langley paid him as well.

I saw him get mad at Sonny Hutchins one night at Langley. Put the "hex" on him. The next lap Sonny spun out when the rear end locked up.

Y'know Charles...I think I remember that night. too...Sonny was dominating that race as I recall, and he fell out...I cant remember who won, but I think it was Bill Dennis or Tommy Ellis, I could be way off base with that.

That is definitely the late Billy Wood standing to the left. I gave him many Wrangler racing hats accompanied by a $20 bill.

Very ironic this photo would pop up again now. I had just finished reading a clip in the Fredericksburg paper about Diane Teel beating Billy Smith at Langley in a late Model Sportsman race in July 1979 for the first win by a woman in a major NASCAR division.

Here's a Ray Lamm photo of Billy Wood wearing one of my 7-Eleven hats for Kyle Petty at Richmond:
