#9A was owned by Frank Steelman of Boonville, NC and driven by Pee Wee Jones, and Mel Larson. The last race for the
#9A was October 27th, 1957 in the U.S.Modified Championship race at Concord, NC. Larson wrecked the

Car driven at Bowman Gray Stadium by Pee Wee Jones. They tried to incorporate late models with modified. BGS paid $75, $50, & $25 bonus to the highest finishing late models. Only did this for 1 or 2 years, maybe '56 & '57.
