This was from Stock Car Racing magazine of 1973. On the left is Roy Lee "smoky" Jones who was just a high school school kid when he started working for Jack.
He went to Erwin high school in Asheville along with Ronnie Silvers, Mike Silvers, and Kerry Bodenhamer who worked for Banjo Mathews and I believe he is in charge of the UARA racing series now.
Nice one Paul, do you remember when Jack shared the shop shown in this shot with Ben Barnes next to the race track? My dad and I visited them every now and then.
