Great shot, Phillip! Thanks for sharing. We're planning a Racestoppers Reunion series on our radio show very soon.

Hey Jeff - Ha, a RaceStoppers reunion, that is very cool! There is another color shot of them at Cotton Owens with driver Charlie Glotzbach. I will post that.

Wow Phillip! First time I've seen this photo in color. Can see some detail of seat and roll cage. COOL!

Hey Dennis - yes, I was thrilled to find this pic. It is from the March 9th, 1969 Carolina 500 program. If you compare it to the b/w pic I posted earlier you'll see the ladies are in different poses. Would love to find the photographer Dave Underwood. I'll bet he took a bunch of color pics at BME that day.

Jim Seay made the following comment several years ago on the RR Chris Economaki page:"I was honored that he printed my accounts of racing at Columbia and other tracks starting in 1962. Helped with the great photography of the late Dave Underwood, we received prime coverage every week of the season every season."

Oh, that's too bad. Sorry to hear that Mr. Underwood has since passed away.Hopefully a friend or relative was able to safe guard and attend to Mr. Underwood's photographic work. If any of that still exists, I would imagine it would be a treasure trove.

I was selected in 1969 to be a Union Oil Racestopper. Itook Helen's place. I never knew her, but I worked with Sharon, Patty and Ann. Please help me locate them. I was in Charlotte this week and I didn't get a chance to go by the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I was just there for one day because I interviewed with an airline that has a base there. I was a Flight Attendant for about 7 years with a private charter out of Dallas and loved it so much, I thought I would apply again. Guess they think I'm too old. : ( I know I am not.DoshiaDallas, TX

Hey there Doshia - what a surprise to hear from you! The only info I have on the other ladies that you worked with are what is printed in the racing program that I have. Maybe this will give you some clues as to their current whereabouts. Sharon Brown is from Jacksonville, Fla. She is a former Miss. U.S.A., Miss Louisiana and Sugar Bowl Queen. She was co-hostess of her own morning television show in Birmingham, Ala. Patty Allen is from Chicago. She is a former Miss Chicago. Ann Romeo is from Norfolk, Va. and Barbara Rucker is also from Chicago. Barbara was first runner-up to Miss Illinois in 1967. Hope that helps and good luck! - Phillip
