Lester Willard (left) raced at Peace Haven Speedway (Easter Monday 1954) and Bowman Gray Stadium in the early to mid 50's fielding the white
#23 out of H.T. Randall's Speed Shop, 412 Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC. The car had "Pale Face" written on the roof above the windsheild (Lester was part Native American). Another car Lester ran was named "Chinese Key Hole", and another "Phyllis" (his youngest daughter). He also raced the
#23 at other area tracks in NC and VA.
Lester was sometimes listed as "Lester Willer" in the programs.
E.J. Brewer (in photo on right?) and Charlie Woosley also drove Lester's
#23 cars.
