Any Sam Smith Fans Remember (BLUE)
At the Billy Scott Retirement Banquet, Billy stands and welcomes Charles Harris (left) and son (right). To all the racing people who knew Sam Smith, they also knew a little black boy as "Blue" who followed Sam to all racing events. Other drivers at Columbia, Greenville, Augusta, Harris and many other tracks knew and loved Blue. Ralph Earnhardt always got Blue to draw for his starting position because he always seemed to draw on the first two rows. Ralph always gave him a little money for this. Blue is now a wonderful christian man in his hometown of Union, S.C. and has a wonderful family. Doesn't go racing much anymore but is always ready to talk about "back in the day" when no one knew more about racing than "Blue"
