The new Danica? Ex-IndyCar driver joining Nationwide Series

Current NASCAR

Ok if you are talking about looks -- Johanna Long has that, if you are talking about class she has that too.. if its ability you looking for she has an abundance of that.

If I was to build a car for Nextel and was going to hire a Competent driver she would be high in the line up for that. I think she would draw a wide array of sponsors ..

The new Danica? Ex-IndyCar driver joining Nationwide Series

Current NASCAR

Uh Oh guys you got another gal to contend with coming into Nascar.. Yup she has won her share of lower tier races and now has her sites on Nascar. Milka Duno is Hispanic too

. In making her transition to stock-car racing and her ultimate entry into NASCAR, Duno has been competing in the ARCA Racing Series for the past three seasons. In 2011 and 2012, she drove partial schedules, and in 2013 drove her first full ARCA season. She finished the season seventh in the driver standings and became the second highest finishing female driver in ARCA's 62-year history. Duno is also the first Hispanic female driver to compete in ARCA.

So what you say guys, will she or will she not that is the question m...

Should we re-ignite the board track boom?

Stock Car Racing History

I think the name of the track was Fulford by the Sea in Miami Fla. I had posted something about this track a few years ago on Racers Reunion but have forgot what I wrote.

You are using a word very loosely there, could they race on a board track? yes but very slowely. Small tires would find all the splinters and narrow openings and then you would have a time out to replace that 2X4 over in turn 4 that Eric just snagged with his pants cuff while broad sliding.

Being as yall looking at a splinter track here is one for yall.

View of Fulford-Miami Speedway from the crowd

This 1-1/4 mile board track was designed by Ray Harround and built for developer Carl Fisher in 1925. The AAA sanctioned race with a $30,000 purse was run before 20,000 people on February 22, 1926. It was the world's fastest wooden track due to the 50 degree banked turns.

This was the only day races were held before the track was destroyed by a hurricane on September 17, 1926.

Barney Oldfield, official starter at the Fulford-Miami Speedway.

He only started the one race on February 22, 1926 as the auto speedway was destroyed by a hurricane on September 17, 1926.

Now are you really sure you want to build another Board track?

From what I can find, and there probably is a lot more about the track, the wood from the track was used to rebuild the city of Miami after the Hurricane .

AND THE LEGANCY CONTINUES

Stock Car Racing History

Dale Earnhardt Jr . posted his third win of the year and now has won both Pocono races in 2014. It really has been an amazing year for that team, especially when you consider the last time Dale Jr. had a multiple-win season was literally a decade ago in 2004. Now everyone in Junior Nation and NASCAR fans in general are asking, "Is this finally the year he wins the championship?"

My answer isn't an easy one. Can he win it all in 2014? Yes -- but no -- but absolutely. Trust me, I really want to say, "Oh, hell yes, he's going to win it all." I really do. He's confident. His energy and enthusiasm we are seeing in 2014 are something that we haven't seen in a long, long, long time.

When you combine the organization he races for, with the talent he has plus the confidence and fun he's having, well, that is a really dangerous combination that the other 42 cars and particular the other 15 cars in the Chase are facing. Dale Jr. is embracing where they are right now and handling it really well. The really cool thing to me is they have shown this consistent attitude all season long. Trust me, from first-hand experience through long, grueling seasons, I can tell you it is really hard to do.

So yes, I really love his chances and am excited to see him racing for his first NASCAR Sprint Cup championship this year. My only hesitation is we've seen drivers and teams come into the Chase red hot and then be non-existent in the Chase. We've seen drivers limp into the Chase -- sorry, Tony pun is intended -- like we did in 2011, and come out of nowhere to win it all. Fox News
