What Can YOU Tell Me About the Nascar Roadster Division???

General

Cody, Get in touch with Marty Little in Florida. If you do not have his email address then let me know and I will send it to you. I knew of a race course in Broward County at the airport. We raced TQ Midgets there in the very early '50 - '51 years.

Marty is a historian on the South Florida Tracks. We worked closely on the early history of Palm Beach Speedway. He would probably have information on the Broward Speedway (?).

What Can YOU Tell Me About the Nascar Roadster Division???

General

Cody, The picture that Johnny Mallonee posted of the roadster races in Calif. was the true roadster races. Not the Indy Car, Speedway Div. type cars. The roadsters raced primarily on the west coast. As far as I know it was not a NASCAR Division. I owned a 1932 Ford Roadster back in the early '50's and believe you me if there had been a division in NASCAR for the roadsters I probably would have been racing in it. The only open cockpit cars that ran in NASCAR was the Convertible's and the Speedway Div. If there were a Roadster Div. in NASCAR, which I don't believe there was, I never heard of it. Tommie

seeking picture(s)

General

Richard. Only one thing worse and that is sitting inside one of those waiting for the race to start. Shop towel drying your eyes until you're going fast enough to clear it out. It also burns the nose. Been there done that.

IF YOU'RE WILLING TO HELP, LET ME KNOW

General

Tim. You can count me in on this since I have a history of getting folks riled (??)up I'm sure that I can come up with a few that would probably work.

However, to assure that I cannot be retaliated against by anyone I ask for 15% .

I am sure with the income that is anticipated by this venture 15% will only be a drop in the bucketcompared to the gross income.

Very clever idea. Looking forward to it.

I can see clearly now--$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$--inmy future.

I may even purchase MGR.

1950's Car Test

General

I got 85%.

Those Chrysler products have always been my downfall as I did not care for them back then.

Does anyone remember a Gallo Wine racecar?

Stock Car Racing History

Tony,

If this time frame is 1978-1980 I had already quit racing and ws not going to any in fear that I would start back.

I do have feelers out for the car in question.

I hope that someone comes through for you.

If you could race against someone who would that someone be?

General

Thanks for the vote of confidence Jeff.

It would be an honor also Tim.

Three abreast start and I'll take the middle. Should I trust you or Johnny on the inside? LOL

We can dream, can't we???

As my Dawsonville Poolroom T-Shirt states. "The Older I Get The Faster I Was!"

General

I have raced against some of the best. Curtis Turner, Cale Yarborough, LeRoy Y., Bill Elliott, Bobby Allison, Donnie, Red, Neil, Pearson, Tiger Tom, Tiny Lund, Pete Hamilton....etc., etc. Too many more to mention. But if I had one more chance it would be on the paved half mile Middle Georgia Raceway against Johnny Mallonee and Tim Leeming. I believe that I could take them for maybe three (3) laps. That's all I would be good for.
