Not only this, but several of 'my' sources have confirmed the long-time rumor of Tony buying Lanier Speedway. I have not been down in a while, but I have also heard it was just negotiations....still, I've heard more 'Yah's" than "Nah's" Sources have also said that Nascar itself, not Big Bruton, has bought the Road Atlanta track right across the street.
Probably no one! Vaudell Sosebee (Gober's widow and David's mom) tells me stories about that trip all the time....of how the car was shipped by boat along with Kyle Petty's car, how they stopped at Hawaii and the Sosebee's got fresh pinnaple, and her favorite....when a car's hood came off during the race, some lady said "Look, there goes it's bonnet!"
Now Johnny, I could've saved you ALL this trouble...except I didn't get on the computer yesterday! 
If I can get my scanner to work, I can put up a picture on here of David's car heading through the tunnel to the pits with his father Gober Sosebee looking on.

Dave.....why are you interviewing Cale in the last picture?
Yup.....Gordon is a legend. He's been like a grandfather to me since I met him about 6 years ago. He is not only the 45+ year owner of the Dawsonville Pool Room, but he is also the CEO of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. If not for Gordon...first off, I probably wouldn't know a dang thing about Raymond Parks or any Dawsonville history other than Bill Elliott. Gordon was also one of two people that wanted to preserve Ga. racing history and started brainstorming about a museum in the the mid 90's.
Gordon is almost 76 years old, but he works harder than anyone I've ever met! Most nights, he'll leave Dawsonville (whether its the Pool Room or from the museum) well after midnight....just trying to improve. Most days, he opens up at the museum and stays there, giving tours and talking to people or working on something.
So Pkl....I hope you don't have a need to ask that question any more.
