Johnny, you have to be really good with a torch to heat a specific portion of the housing and then do your magic with a baking pan and a block of ice. Its called "clenching"... Of course you have to do it before the race based on driver and crew chief inputs and tons of info/data from the specific track and conditions you expect.
to get a better explanation than I can give you might want to google Kenny Sapper of Joe Gibbs racing. He is a master at this....
Great report Chase. I hadn't heard the name Harry Beggarly in a few years... He was a heck of a driver to win 27 races in 1993 which I believe was his championship year....Loved the pics also esp. Terry giving the Intimidator a bit of the chrome horn....
great find Johnny, If they had as much fun as I did in 1958 with my 57 ford they had a ball. Never hauled any shine but I sure did run the wheels off of it..ah, memories as you say. Wish I had that ole Ford back and the slim waist and dark hair, thanks.
I still say the MAJOR emphasis should be on winning. The laying back, taking few risks, points racing is making a dull boring parade of people afraid to put the pedal down and go for the win....jmo.
Dave, who would want all those empties??? I'm sure every pic I've seen of Chase with one in his hand, it was open....lol
lol....I thought there was only Dave and The Legend that would wear these kinds of hats and now there's Jay ...who knew......lol
Dave, I don't think its either one of them, lol....these trucks look to fast.....
happy birthday Jack and many ,many more,
