How many of you know precisely where you were on the evening of August 29, 1959 (assuming you were anywhere yet)? Well, I was at Sportsman Speedway in Johnson City, Tennessee, with my dad, watching in shock as crowd favorite Sherman Utsman tangled with Eddie France in a heat race and flew up and over the third-turn fence and into the night. BTW, for those of you interested in this sort of thing, I believe the car was a 1934 Chevrolet 5-window coupe. The car, numbered 37, was approximately the color of the background used here.
