Dave MacDonald wins 1963 LA Times Grand Prix and captures the King Cobra's first-ever win. A record purse for the Grand Prix drew an international field of drivers including: AJ Foyt, Jimmy Clark, Rodger Ward, Parnelli Jones, Graham Hill, Jim Hall, Dan Gurney, Bob Bondurant, John Surtees, Dick Thompson, Pedro Rodriguez, Don Wester, Lloyd Ruby, Billy Krause, Richie Ginther and Roger Penske. MacDonald won in spectacular fashion finishing 1+ laps ahead of the entire field.
