Darel Dieringer's Mercury heading for the race track. During the Chrysler boycott of 1965, the Mercury's built by Bud Moore were the only competion the Ford teams had.

My best guess on the Chevy hauler is simple economics. Remember, Bud Moore had Chevy and Pontiac race cars from 1957 thru mid 1963. I'm thinking it was a good hauler, and not getting a lot of factory support from Ford, just use what's available.

The paint schemes would match, as Bud had the same colors on the car , some what, from 1960 thru 1970
wonder why bud had a chevy hauler instead of a ford??
Great shot,Thanks Bill
