The phenomenon rages on! Old school race fans are coming out in droves to experience this amazing occurrence. Unlike other "manias" and "nations" this one seems to be a clear winner! The mainstream press seems to be asleep at the wheel on this one, though. While fans of yesteryear tire of the endless barrage of senseless media hype and commercialization of a once iconic sport, they are embracing RacersReunion Nation.

Why....you may ask? Heck, I dunno! But here is a list of possibilities"
Legendmania, Raymania, Boppermania,Biscoemania, Rexmania, JohnnyMalloneemania, Codymania, Bumpertagmania, Andymania, Guidomania, Dr.JaniceWoodberrymania, Devinmania, RJmania, Rondamania, Nedmania, Leonmania,Tommiemania, Freemania, CoastalJackmania, BigDmania, MotorweekLIVE!mania, STARSmania, UncleWallymania, Bobbymania, Ernestmania, SlimShadymania, Andrewsfamilymania, RoniManemania, Kimberlymania, Tigermania, Wmania, Frankmania, Edmania, maybe Geraldmania...nah maybe not, Kylemania, Leonmania, Freemania, Goobermania, Brandonmania
JimStreetermania, Tedmania, Harveymania, JimWilmoremania, MikeSykesmania, TheRealJimmyJohnsonmania, Alexmania, Sammania, Bobmania, Paulmania, and GoatRodeoMania!
Just a few of the latest stars of RacersReunion Nation.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do you like how "hip" The Legend is with that introduction?? You get that from having a teenaged grandson. Jeff has been hitting Eli's bottle filled with Billy Biscoe's home brew!!!!!!!!!!! But, you know, Jeff is right. There is a Racers Reunion Mania. A Racers Reunion Nation. But best of all, there is a Racers Reunion where all us folks who love what the sport is REALLY about, like to hang out, can hang out, and do hang out. Thanks Jeff. Racers Reunion Nation is quite the place to be.Tim

Old school, back when the race was in the hands of drivers and mechanics not engineers and ad agencies. Look at the empty seats at the MONSTER Mile are we going in the right direction.Put the in 64 with 427 CID and no power steering bet the radios would be smoking

Great post, Jeff. There is certainly a particular comfort level in hanging out with friends with similar experiences, similar memories, and a similar appreciation for a subject which we all love talking about, rehashing old memories, and telling "war stories". We may have differing opinions on many things regarding racing, but I do believe that we at least have a healthy respect for each other & our varied opinions. Thanks much.

The move I think is back to the real deal,at least to the short tracks and the excitement under the lights. Heck did you know you can tell the cars apart out there?? Not so easy with these Spring loaded plastic cars but they are different in each owners choice of panels and nose or tail structure. How about the stockers thats booming at many short tracks and the attention that the old vintage cars are getting when people see them.America is hungry for something to do to get out and relax and have fun, maybe racing is it. Not everyone can afford a ticket to a major league ball game but a ticket to a major Saturday nite special is still affordable to most families and its still kid friendly. Most drivers are accessable before and after a race, try getting to a major league player of a nascar driver----never happen unless you are kin to someone.Jeff is right because our car stays up on a lift unless im working on it and many people are coming in now saying I found you on Racers Reunion or say they saw the car there. Now Im kinda getting into a spot now because they want to see the car run--I tell them starting in March of 2011 it will make its heyday at Middle Ga Raceway then i guess i will work out a schedule to go to some of the local tracks and promote our our great organization we call RACERS REUNION wouldnt that be great !!!!!

Whatevermania....it is I love it. Thanks Jeffmania and all of you other mania's for letting me relive my past and enjoying the past of people that I did not even know and would probably have never known if not for Racer's Reunion. But we all have one thing in common....Racing The Way It Used To Be. Love it. You are correct Johnny...no engineers, chasis men, body men, motor men. Just a man and a machine. Some walk on helpers that received no pay. Just a love for racing. A small shop behind the house. 40 hour a week regular job. But come Sat. night it was time to race. Tow it behind the car or if you were really lucky load it up on the trailer and off to the local race track. Let's hope that the countless hours you spent in that little shop behind the house and after your 8 hr. regular job would pay off and the car would be ready to race. There they were people just like you with a love of racing ready to compete against you. Maybe if you ran good you may get enough of the purse to pay your expenses. But, the biggest reward was being able to race. So now this old body of mine is 75 years old but Racer's Reunion takes me back to my youth and what a trip it is. As DW would say, "Let's Go Racing Boy's". (Sorry 'bout that Tim.) And race we do if only in our dreams of a time that was...........Memorymania.

Tommie, for the D.W.remark I would be there in middle Georgia looking for you. BUT, the rest of that post is so awesome, so well written, that I can only say thank you for putting it up. As I often say, there are no better people than racing people and you are one of the true, wonderful people I have come to know through this site. Tommiemainia is a pretty good though. One more thought, I would be proud to be a part of Tommie Nation too.Tim

Thanks much for speaking for many of us. I'm pretty confident that what you said sums it up for so many of us who frequent this site............but you were able to put it into words, and I thank you for that.

It is most certainly our pleasure! We're coming up on our 3 year anniversary (Jan 25) and it is amazing how many folks have found us through referrals and searches. With the exception of a couple of months during the first year we have not advertised the site at all. Advertising brought the wrong crowd so we stopped doing it. I didn't want this site to turn into one of those...like so many that exist ...where folks seem to always be arguing and fighting. Our crowd really seems to appreciate and enjoy racing history and have made this a premier living, growing, historical document.

Jeff, your last statement rings true. Some times things just click. This forum is legitimate having a strong foundation. Many that are part of this do the real work by preserving racing history. The radio program, the clubs and many events are in place to keep what we love.My compliments to those who do the real work keeping the sport of car racing alive. Most of all, thank you Jeff

Jeff,RE: Your comment about so many other "existing sites where people seem to argue and fight all the time."One of the things I believe is really apparent about this site is that most of the members are mature, intelligent people (can't say that about other sites) who, although we all have different thoughts & opinions, at least have appreciation and respect for others & their opinions. It seems to me that even though we might not agree about particular drivers, incidents, or other racing subjects, we seem to be able to express ourselves here without be subjected to a bunch of juvenile, uneducated remarks from others who don't know the meaning of respect.
