CONGRATULATIONS TONY AND STEWART/HAAS RACING

Great way to win a championship! It came down to who wanted it and although I'm sure Carl wanted it just as much, it was Tony prevailing and that makes me happy.

In another way, I need to offer congratulations to NASCAR for the way the season ended. It could not have been a more challenging end to the season to watch two of the best do everything they could possibly do to take home that championship. This will be a championship to be talked about throughout the off season and should give some good press to the sport. I am hopeful the awards banquet will be presented in such a way as to further present a positive side to the sport.

Before all the NASCAR haters jump me for that, let me say that I am very concerning about many things in NASCAR, not the least of which is issuing fines to drivers who speak the truth NASCAR doesn't want to hear. I have many issues with NASCAR but I'm not in the drivers seat and I think there is little likely hood things are going to change to suit me. How many of you would volunteer to pitch a tent, and "occupy" a parking lot at Daytona in protest? It may not always suit me, and in fact these days very little of it suits me, but, in my book, it is still much, much, much better than football, major league baseball, golf, basketball or any of those other stick and ball sports. After all, one thing NASCAR does have right in their advertising is that "Everything else is just a game". With me its always been that way and always will. No matter now disgusted I get, seeing 43 cars take the green flag always makes the hair on my arms stand up.

By far one of the best seasons. I thought it was very competitive. NASCAR did some good things. Making wins matter more in the Chase I thought made the Chase more interesting. Parking Kyle Busch was another good move. Man when it was 40 to go the one thought I had in my mind was, if NASCAR throws a debris caution I will never watch NASCAR again. But thankfully that did not happen and Robby Gordon did not throw anything on the track and Brian Vickers didn't spin out because he liked to

so refreshing to see some positivetakes on this season. i too really enjoyed the way this thing played out. who knows when we will see it come down like this again.

This has been one of the few races, that I was excited about since the checkered flag fell atPhoenix. Going into the race, Carl and Tony were my two top favorites with Tony edging Carl, just barely on my list. So atleast I knew that who ever won, I would be happy, and whichever loses, I'll be alright with that too.

I knew that Carl would have the edge, being that he won on this configuration both last year, and some other time, (seems like it was either 05' or 08') while Tony won there in 1999, and 2000 on the old, flat surface. And I knew Carl would have a good day, 2nd in first practice, and grabbing the pole, while Tony was 28th in first practice and qualified 15th. Now I wasn't glued for the first 50-70 laps or so, so I didn't see when they fixed the front end, but I knew that he was in 40th, 45 points behind the race leader, Carl. But, I mean, wow, he was just flying out there working his way up.

Fast Forward to the last 40 or so laps. Tony was leading, Carl just trying to get to him. Anyway, I was real happy to see him win, I've liked Tony since 04' and never looked back. I've liked Carl since he came along and won his first cup race in Atlanta in 05'. But this is exactly what I wanted....racing for a championship, and down to the last couple of laps. It was just a free for all. The last few years, all JJ has had to do was to just ride around and finish above the 20's or 30's, but this was just all out.

I have really slowed down collectingmemorabilia because I have so much already, but I think I may have to save for a Championship diecast!!!

I didn't get to see the Truck race at Homestead, but did see most of the Nationwide race and all of the Cup race. I enjoyed both very much. I don't know what one could dislike about the way this season ended...unless of course, if one happens to be a die-hard Carl Edwards fan...

This was a good day and a good season for NASCAR. Hopefully having a new champion (other than Jimmie) and having it come down to the end as it did...will give the fans something to look forward to and stir up some more interest. Sure would be nice to see those stands fill up again and see more sponsors clamoring to get a piece of the action.

Those two fellows raced their fannies off Sunday night and the crews also rose to the occasion. Either would have been deserving of the Championship. It was refreshing to see the two title contenders racing for a win that would determine the season's outcome rather that having the Championship locked up by somebody just having to appear on the starting grid for the final race.

Congratulations to Tony and to Carl. What a way to end the season. Tied in points with Tony coming out as the Champion for his 5 wins in the chase. And what a gentleman Carl is. You could tell by the look in his eyes that he was disappointed. Who wouldn't be? But he accepted like a gentleman and was one of the first to congratulate Tony. He didn't go storming off, throwing things, refusing to talk to the media like others that we know would have. Who finished 11th and 12th in the points? Good place for them. They won't even appear on stage at the awards banquet as they honor the top 10 in points.

Great season. Some great races. Great Champion. I'm sure the crowds will get better as the economy improves. We have to remember that these are hard times for many people and some things have to take a backseat to racing such as food and rent.

Congratulations again to Tony. He will be a great Champion..

Can't wait for Daytona.

Prediction for 2012? Carl. Tony or Brad.

Dale and Andy made it more exciting to watch and to listen. They were doing their jobs and they did it well. Just as a writer writes about a race that we have seen and explains all aspects of it. That's their job.

Let's not put anyone down after such a great race.

Let us instead thank all involved from NASCAR all the way to the person in the ticket boothto the TV crewsand the radio guys for allowing us to be a witness to one of the closest and best of all Championship events in NASCAR.

I thought the racing was outstanding yesterday not only between Carl and Tony but among many of the other competitors as well. I would love to see everyone racing that hard all season. IMO the broadcast was well done also.

Bumpertag---that was God playing with Nascar---You do know he likes racing too. He put the moisture down to add Drama to an already great show. see how everyone loved it!!!!

Yup, definitely one of the best championship battles ever. Wanted Duckboy to win so I'm sad but Tony deserves it 100%.
