What a great photo. My money's on Joy to pass Bob. I think this #1car was from around 1967 or 1968, but I thought Bob was driving Chevelles by then. I'll have to check this out. You found my weakness, I'm a HUGE Joy Fair fan, Craig.Pete in Michigan

In this picture taken Oct. 1967 at Illiana Speedway in Northern Ind. for the Tony Bettenhausen Memorial 100, Joy was actually lapping Bob. Joy would go onto win by over 3/4s of a lap over Homer Newlandand Bob's brother Rich. Bob and Tom Marks would come home 4th and 5th, one lap down. It was the race Joy had told me about that the sun going down the backstretch was bothering him, so he would close his eyes, count to five and would open them and be in the 3rd turn! In the process he was lapping cars like crazy. Truly amazing as this was his first ever appearance at Illiana.
