In September 1984, I was Motorsports Coordinator for Southland Corporation's 7-Eleven, CITGO and Chief Auto Parts entries in NASCAR, NHRA, Trans-Am and IMSA. We had a Corporate Office picnic at a beautiful park in Dallas, Texas and just like NASCAR, I was penalized in the "3-Legged Race" by being required to race with both daughters, Gwyn & Stacey, tied to my legs at the same time! Did no good to cry "Not Fair" just like NASCAR!

Gwyn and Stacey? Were you a Spider-Man comics fan? His first girlfriend was Gwyn Stacy. Mary Jane Watson who most remember came AFTER Gwyn.Umm, sorry about that. That's about all the superhero comic book geek trivia I can offer.Back to racing.

Chase, I wasn't aware of Spidey's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy... I actually wanted to name our first daughter Kathleen after the prettiest girl I ever went to school with, whereas my mother campaigned for Elizabeth. Gwyn was a compromise and we did not reveal the name to either set of parents until her birth.
