6th Silver Fox Richmond Win - 1969
The Richmond Times-Dispatch runs a daily photo from its archive and it finally ran a stock car racing shot in late February 2014.
The scene in this Bob Brown photo shows winner, David Pearson in victory lane of the April 1969 Richmond 500 on the half-mile Richmond Fairgrounds oval which had just been paved the previous season - 1968.
This was the 6th and final Richmond victory for "The Silver Fox." His first four Richmond wins came in Cotton Owens Dodges on the dirt and the final two came in Holman-Moody Fords.
I'm able to pick out P.A. announcer, Ray Melton and Richmond co-promoters, Paul Sawyer and Kenneth Campbell in victory lane.
