On May 19, 1963 Ned Jarrett drove his
#11 Burton-Robinson Concrete Construction Ford to victory over Richard Petty's
#41 Plymouth in the final NASCAR Grand National race staged at Richmond's third-mile asphalt Southside Speedway. This Richmond Newspapers photo shows Ned with the winner's trophy for the 100-mile event. Jim Paschal in Petty Enterprises Plymouth

Wow, look at the names in this line-up. Note Larry Manning in 6th place. I believe we have discussed some of this here previously, but Larry was running out of Bob Adams' shop on Hull Street Road. Dick Hamm, Larry's father-in-law, helped to prepare the car. Not sure if Bill Croxton still had anything to do with the car at that time, but was previously the owner/backer of Larry's '62 Chevy when they ran out of Red Britton's shop on Walmsley Blvd. I spent a few hours hanging around those shops, and feel privileged to have known many of those involved.
