Thanks guys. I'm having a ball sharing pics with everybody here. And yes Pete that's a 396 stroker engine in my little Ford. Got a weight break with it and the 374 engines.

.....I told Ralph about my little expedition this past weekend with the yellow Starliner to the short track. "And they are", he proceded to explain, after checking out the two bolt main 390 in my 3900 pound 119" wheelbase weapon of choice, "you've got too much racecar and not enough engine."After I told him that the big ol' Galaxie was all I had, he told me to drop by the airport..........and bring a trailer. He promised me that all my problems would be solved as soon as that 7000 RPM kit, cross bolted main, high riser 427 in that little Fairlane fired up. What's better than havin' friends in high places? Having friends in air spaces, Douglas International Airport air space, that is.PS- I built the models, I set up the shot, I took the picture and designed and added the logos. They are MY PROPERTY!!.......and if I decide to (which I most certainly have) share this with the folks on this board, I would be insulted and dissappointed if you didn't download, print, save and share it with anyone who would enjoy it! Now when I get my calendar ready to print, that might be a different story. LOL Photobucket

Thanks Mike. Now Steve, you know that all my Starlite stuff got sold in that divorce auction. Well, except for a few that got misplaced and one or two that wound up "visiting friends", like a certain #71 Camaro that I need to borrow to take some pics of. I'll see what I can do on those #63 pics for you.

I'm not really sure what you think you've caught me at. I never really mentioned the track (it was the Echoes of Thunder Raceway). I'm not that brave because around here we alwalys use ol' Henry's stuff for what it was designed to do (well maybe the trucks, the cars are used for what Ralph, Smokey, Cotton and the boys sort of "re-designed" them to do) and that's to drive. Some say I should be chased with a net but what the &^%$% is a hans device?I'm happy to know that not only is my work appreciated here but that I can help keep the memories of our heroes fresh in the minds and hearts of all who see it. This is a wonderful place and I'm proud to be a part of it..

Got up and got loaded around daylight headed for the test track to shake down "Ol' Yeller" so I could get back and shoot some pics this afternoon. Here's the old girl tied down and ready to roll while I'm trying to decide why turning laps in a car with no windows at over 120MPH in 30 degree weather is a good thing. LOL Photobucket But when that big ol' 390 is wound up and at full song, all those arguments pale in comparison. That new coat of "Bear Grease" that we got from Bob Colvin really did the trick and made powerslides on asphalt the order of the day. Photobucket The only problem I had today was when I got back to do the photo shoot at the shop. The yard was so crowded that I couldn't get a good angle on the car to get the photos. By the time I put the telephoto lense on and went across the street to try to shoot it that way, the traffic had gotten so bad that I couldn't do that either. Oh well, I guess I'll try again tomorrow when we're closed and I can have the parking lot to myself. Photobucket

Cover for the new Vintage Stock Car Model Calendar.I may change some of the pictures before the actual months come out. This was just put together last night and I may either make new choices or shoot some new pics before the pages are posted.I guess I'll have to own up to being a little prejudiced in favor of Ford products after checking the sheet and seeing ten of them, two GM products and no Mopars. I'll try to be a more "diverse", and not "perverse", person in the coming new year and decade. But I've been a "Blue Oval" guy for a very long time so I'm not makin' any promises. :laugh2: calpromo

Guys, this is a labor of love, a tribute to my friends and heroes who built and drove these cars and a gift to my friends here. I'm just a poor delivery driver so ya'll are on your own when it comes to printing'em though. LOLHere's the link to the larger file to use for printing. I'll post it with the pics each month. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v69/mitchum/janpost/JAN.jpg

I've wanted to do this for a long time.A little something for all my friends here. I hope to one day be able to actually have one printed up to either sell or pass out but until then, here's the best I can do.Here's the first page of my new calendar I did for everyone here. I've also got it in a larger file in case anyone wants to print one for their workbench. Thanks for letting me hang out with ya'll this past year. Photobucket

John, he doesn't do much by telephone because the interruptions would interfer with the building, and he keeps some pretty odd hours at times. He's pretty much covered up this time of year as you could imagine but maybe could put you on the list for after the first of the year. You can e-mail him at gator1@comporium.net to check on whether or not he would be able to build you one. He, like me, has a soft spot for the pioneers and mentioning Marion Cox just might be the magic word.
