KYLE BUSCH MAKES NASCAR HISTORY

Current NASCAR

Tim says it for me. Maybe Kyle can jet from race to race and climb in cars and go out and drive, but Kyle will NEVER fill Sam Ard's shoes. Kyle can also climb out of a race car, run to the hauler or motorhome pouting if he didn't win and be shuttled to the next venue. Sam and others like him didn't have those options and this makes it impossible to compare the two drivers. If Busch wrecks a car, he climbs out and leaves. Sam fixed it and went out for more or fixed it so it could get on the trailer. Different times that's for sure.I've seen many drivers back in the day working on their race cars including watching a very upset A.J Foyt finally pulling into the pits at Michigan with his Indycar, pushing the crew out of the way and turning the wrenches while the crew watched from behind the wall. Talk about a loud cheer from the crowd. These guys knew their cars inside out. Tim Leeming said:
To compare what Kyle Busch has done with what Sam Ard did is simply not possible. Kyle won the races he won in a multi-million dollar financed team, far above the finances of any other team in Nationwide, having never touched one part of the car but the steering wheel. He never stayed up late working on it and he didn't tow it to the track. Granted, Kyle did achieve a lot with the win yesterday, but until he can be the man Sam Ard is, all Kyle Busch represents is dollars winning races. Sam was, is, and for a very long time to come, the justified hero to hundreds of thousands of fans who recall those days. Thank you Sam Ard.

A definition from Robin Pemberton

Current NASCAR

After a race and if they look hard enough, they can find things wrong with any car...if they want to.

NOW HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU LET THIS HAPPEN--------

Current NASCAR

I just don't think Richard Childress is stupid enough to make this mistake after being told his car was close after Richmond. If this was intentional, he deserves the fine and penalty. But if this is a result of bumping and banging during and after the race...SHAME ON NASCAR. Heaven forbid a car wins a race that has mis-shaped bodywork for the next 9 races. The drivers might as well parade around the track so no one can touch them. Doesn't sound like much of a race to me.

git rid of the chase

Current NASCAR

Rex, I don't think you'll get much argument from most of us on RR. This goat rodeo called Nascrap lay awake nights thinking of ways to keep everything screwed up. Brainless France needs to step back and let professional's run the sport we remember. No offense to goats!!Pete disgusted in Michigan

Deserve to be in the HOF, but when?

General

Just look at the engine builders alone from Holman Moody. Waddell Wilson, Robert Yates, Eddie Lanier, Tommy Turner, Lee Terry and Bob Auman are just some come to mind. Probably be more guys that I forget or were trained as assistants that are involved today. I don't recall any of the engineers, but they were a huge part of their success.

H/M would have to go in as a company and I agree they contributed so much to Nascar Cup cars and teams. They were a private contractor not a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company and deserve to go into Nascar's Hall of Fame as a company. They had so much influence back in the day much like Hendrick has today. They built top notch cars and engines with the best technical support and builders at the time. Also had a good group of owners and drivers using their race cars.I hope they go in but I think it will be a long time before they do. Got to get all the 70's, 80's and 90's drivers in first with 5 going in per year.Pete

Those Lovely Mamby Pamby Sprint Cup Drivers

Current NASCAR

Nearly all drivers have their moments of whining and crying about being bumped, raced hard or didn't have a car that ran on rails (image that in racing, huh), but the team that I've noticed who really cry are the Gibbs drivers Lagano, Busch and Hamlin. They would top my list anyway.

Jr SUCKS!

General

I'm not a Earnhardt fan but he is really struggling with this team. Maybe the move wasn't all it was cracked up to be. But Hendrick gets what he wants, everyone knows that.

Jim, did the 3/4 ton rear ends cure that or did they still break, just not as often?
