green white checkered rule

Current NASCAR

Even with the green-white-checkers the races still end once the white flag comes out because of a spin. I'm not sure a second chance would help since cautions bred cautions. I agree with Jeff that we all want to see races end with a good checkered flag finish. How 'bout not counting the yellow flag laps with 10 to go and letting them race to the checkers if a caution comes out on the white flag lap?? It would be exciting!Pete

Danica: Going for it!

General

Dave, Jeff and Johnny, I gotta say it sure looked suspicious. For the first 30 laps, I wasn't sure who was leading.Pete

Danica: Going for it!

Dave, I think you're right, they didn't interview Jill even though that Hylton 48 car was destroyed. Danicaaa was interviewed immediately after race winner Bobby Gerhart. I saw some of the most biased reporting I've seen in a long time. Almost looked like Darrel was slipped some money from Go Daddy.Pete Dave McLean said:
I agree Pete, there were other women drivers and it was all about Danica.. I was glad to see her race, but what I thought was bad.. They never interviewed anyone else excpet for the top drivers and Danica...The one young lady that hit the wall upside down was just passed up and never interviewed. (unless I missed it) along with most of the drivers in the BIG ONE... I also think Ali did a great job til she got shuffled back.. Bad move on her part, but she did an awsome job!!!

Sometimes I wish that Speed/ABC/ESPN would remember there's 43 drivers and not just 4..

Danica: Going for it!

Alli did a great job and ran 3rd for a long time with Bobby Gehardt and Mark Thompson 1 and 2. 'Ol D.W. made sure it was a one woman show with all his chatter, not realizing there were other drivers in the race. It was sickening. Phil Parsons did a great job, but had a challenge getting a word in edgewise with DW yapping.Pete

I am sure JC France wil be peeing in the cup with Brian and Mayfield, only to see who does the most drugs, not to see if they are drug free.

BREAKING NEWS! MUST READ!

Jeff, I think Racers Reunion should take it over. Can you imagine the "shakeup"? Going back to Stock appearing cars, no restrictor plates and best of all a return to the good old tracks that put racing on the map. Finally, we could get rid of Talledaga! I'd also request a couple of dirt tracks.Pete, wishful thinking in Michigan. Jeff Gilder said:
Lol....that would be a miserable job! Can you imagine working for a "family type" business with all that attention. God bless anyone who step in that mess. Yes, I know its a "bonafide" corporation, but it is still family.

Hey Just had a great idea--now think about this how would Jeff Gilder pres and Tim Leeming assistant with Robbie,Bobby, and the rest of the crew as governing body. now that has reasoning to it--what yall think

Modified pictures everywhere...

General

I wasn't going to respond to this discussion, but I will give my 2 cents anyway. I am not a fan of the modifieds mainly because I didn't watch them growing up as a kid. I watched what was called "Superstocks" and a fairly new class of cars in the late 50's called "Supermodifieds". The Michigan Supermodifieds were very, very competitive with the crowd at Oswego and won a few Classics. We have info and a fan page for these cars on the open wheel side of Racers Reunion.I'm only one person of many and just because I don't care for something doesn't mean I speak for so many others on Racers Reunion. That being said, I never thought I'd be interested in the late 40's early 50's Nascar race cars that were raced. I then found a man named Jim Streeter who was kind enough to answer a few questions about how race cars were built and driven back in the day in Nascar. From tires, engines, rear ends, transmissions, brakes and bodies, he shared what he remembered and I became a fan. Maybe someday that one certain Modified will catch my attention and I'll fire off some questions. As far as Johnny's "find"... build how you want to and enjoy it, Johnny! I'm sure I'll follow your build and ask some of my usual stupid questions along the way to learn more about your passion for building it. I also know it won't be a "trailer queen" as Johnny will use it harder than he probably should on the race track.(Especially if Tim is involved). I also know it will be built old school and who knows, I might become a fan.Just a few of my thoughts...Pete

Is there a contest I missed?

General

When I set up a fan page for a driver, I use my friends list to invite them to join if they're interested. Many of my friends do join and I join the fan pages they created to expand my knowledge of other drivers and tracks. I know in J.C.'s case he, I believe, was asked by Jeff to set up fan pages and has hundreds set up that I enjoy. When I got several requests to join clubs from J.C I knew it was something unintentional. I appreciate everything J.C has done and if you're not looking at fan pages or clubs, check them out. There is a lot of info and pics that you don't see in the photo section of RR.Pete
