Question of the day for March 25, 2011

General

I met David Pearson in about 1983 and I'm still on cloud nine. He took the time to sign a H/M cut-a-way print I had and even changed his mind a couple times where he should sign it (there is even a dirt smudge from his hand because he was a real racer!) . I also met A.J.Foyt who was one of my favorite Indycar drivers. He also commented on the picture I had him sign because it was so old ( from 1967). I would have liked to have met Bobby Isaac and LeeRoy Yarbrough in stock cars and Jimmy Clark from Open Wheel. I'm still working on meeting drivers from our local tracks who competed in the past. I've met Tom Maier and Wayne Landon who raced in the 60's at Dixie motor Speedway in Michigan. All were very positive experiences and took time to make a fan feel special.

Question of the day for March 20, 2011. Subjective.

General

I would say Marshall Teague and the '51 Hudson Hornet. He found a car with a low center of gravity (stepdown design) and worked with Hudson Motor Car Co to a create a real monster race car in the early 50's. The 308 c.i. 6 with Twin H Power was almost unbeatable.

Question of the Day for March 19, 2011

General

Tim, I've seen pictures of the Ford/Winton race from 1901 where they ran counterclockwise on a horse track. I believe horses also raced the same direction. Maybe some tie to horse racing many, many years ago. Just a thought. Great question Tim!!

Let me explain...

General

Like Robbie, I don't recall anything that bad from you. I must've missed that discussion. I admit I don't watch as much as I used to, but I have more of a problem with broadcasting (Fox) than anything else. As far as the racing, it's the same 'ol same 'ol with the exception of this years Daytona 500. That was a race!!

Keep the discussions coming and I always enjoy a good civil debate...especially with Mallonee.

Current NASCAR

I'm so proud of the Wood Boys and Trevor Bayne. Us Ford guys had a lot to cheer about today.

A Rant, pure and simple

Current NASCAR

I remember an interview not that long ago with Dr. Hubbard (inventor of the HANS device) on Wind tunnel with Dave Despain. Dr. Hubbard was in Daytona in 2001 and suggested to drivers (including Earnhardt) this would solve the head and neck injuries. Some drivers gave him an audience but Dale was not interested as you'd expect. After all he was "invincible" Dale Earnhardt! Maybe Dale, it would have been worth your time to hear him out.

I agree with your comments Tim...couldn't have said them better myself.

OK, IT IS OFFICIAL. I HAVE BEEN KICKED OUT.

Current NASCAR

I will bet that our Legend Tim will not lose any sleep over this. We want you Tim and that's really important! Nascar really doesn't want to hear the truth.
