Photo Categorys

General

Stacy Morgan said: A couple of categorys that would help are, newspaper articles, old car sections (non race car) , the reunions that are held at old speedways would be a good category, another good place to start would be dirt and asphalt cars. If a photo comes in with out a caption make a category for those photos, Thanks

When I'm viewing pictures for approvalI willapprove photos that meet the criteria without captions. However, again, I'm asking that when you post a photo please take the extra 5 seconds or so to title your photo. If you do not know who the driver is put in the caption "unknown driver-please help" or something else to that effect. 9 times out if 10 you will get an and, in most cases I move that to our vintage section in hopes that will happen for you. Also dumping 100 or so photos at once with no captions-we will aprove the photo if it meets the criteria but it will not make the featured photos due to the time it takes to look at each photo graph. Also, I get complaints when photos are lifted off other member's pages and reposted by someone else. Which I have to removeif the request I send to the poster is not replied dddto.I've had it happen to me so if your photo disappeared....well you get the picture. Code numbers, , tape marks, tears, the little water mark in lower left corner, ect. are like finger prints. At one time way back in our infancy, we had about 10k photos. At Jeff's request I removed the ones that did not belong here. I spent 10 hours one Sunday deleting photos and screaming obscenities. We also have a group called Member's Racers where you can post pics of your current and past racers from Karts on up. And please take heed to the criteria-1990 AND EARLIER.

Early NASCAR cars found ??

Stock Car Racing History

A Chevelle built and raced by Roy Trantham rests in Asheville. Roy parked it in his mothers driveway and moved out of U.S. , this was in the early 70's. A friend of Roy's went over and cut down some small trees and pulled it out and has it in his garage, this was 3 or 4 years ago. This car raced at Asheville, Greenville and maybe a few more local Carolina tracks. It is a treasure to look at and see the progress made in the sport that once was auto racing.

Current NASCAR

Who was the first full time driver for wood brothers? Did you find out? Speedy Thompson won the first world 600 in their car, but not sure if he was the first full time driver.Stacy
