When Tiny came down south, he "camped out" at at daddy's garage on Indiana Ave. in Winston-Salem till he got settled. I'll never forget him stuffing me inside a stack of tires and everyone having a laugh at my expense. I thought I would get "even" years later at Atlanta when I was a Goodyear tire buster but guess what? Same results. Heck of a man was Tiny Lund. And I had the pleasure of attending Mr. Day's bash on June 2nd with the 3rd place finishier from your 1966 event, Mr. Hank Thomas. Still going strong at 75.
Suzie is certainly welcome to use this in the program if she wants.
This photo of Bill Myers was taken at Hillsboro. The story I was always told was that there was not muchfire fighting equipment thereso they rolled the car off into the river to put the fire out. Notice how excitedeveryone around the car was. lol!
He probablysneaked in under the fence when the cops head was turned. Really enjoyed talking to Mike Joy.
We were lucky enoug to have DW& Mike Joy at Bowman Gray on Saturday night. We got an early dose of the Boogity, Boogity deal. Had to put my fingers inmy ears. Still couldn'tshut it out.
Tim! I'm surprised to see that you failed to note that after a long night of preparation at "Possum Hollar", Gary Myers finsished a respectable 12th in that race. The pre-race prep sure made for a longrace.I still have some of the "Chicken Whiskey" souvenir glasses somewhere. Ole George Jones knew how to throw a party.
No distress. Just wanted it to be clear that the boy did not die. Plus the fact that as I said, the press could have done a better job. I appreciate the hard work you put into helping keep the history alive. Keep up the good work.
