Mario Rossi 69 Charger 500 Photos

Stock Car Racing History

I am looking for a phot of my dads car at Daytona 1969 first race. I have seen a few from then but I am looking for a specific shot with dads logo on front fender. Not sure if it was there for qualifier and not race or the opposite. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a shot taken by someone when they were a kid or something.

Thanks,

Bill

1971 Mario Rossi Tribute CAr

Stock Car Racing History

For Sale:

1971 Vintage Tribute Race Car. This is not represented as a real car. It was built to todays vintage race standards.

Need to sell the car to move on my other project, so make reasonable offer.

I always wanted to do a tribute car to my dads racing career.I purchased this car when asked to build a vintage race car for some dirt racing. I found the car partially done and decided it was a fit for my project. Car came with no motor and transmission. Due to some time issues we decided to leave automatic set up. I bought a 73 motor and a rebuilt transmission for the project. Motor was taken down and cleaned and new parts were put back. All new bearings and seals were put in motor. After car was finished I did not want to dirt race it so we took it to asphalt tracks. Ran car at Anderson Motor Speedway in S.C. and Myrtle Beach Speedway. I am only selling the car due to an option to buy one of my fathers real race car chassis.

Note can go to You Tube and type in Bill Rossi scroll to IMG 2508 for short video during Mopars at the Beach 2013.

Car can also be made into a Bobby Allison tribute car with the changing of a few decals. Bobby drove a number 12 Dodge in 1971 with Coke sponsor same color scheme.

Motor and Car Specifics:

Car has all the proper safety gear required for vintage racing.

Fuel cell, Griffin radiator, transmission cooler.

Motor- 340 Motor has 10:1 pistons with new rings and all new bearings. Cam is a Lunati cam with duration in 298 degree lift is 462 in. Duration ex. is 308 degrees lift is 473 in. Centerlineis107 degrees. Holley Air Gap intake.Factory heads just cleaned up no major work done. Carb is a Barry Grant 750cfm.

Transmission is a 904 automatic with a Cheetah manual valve body. Set is R-N-3-2-1

Rear end is an 8 3/4 with green bearings for easy third member change out. Just pull axles and remove gear then replace.

Car is sold as is no warranty. Any questions please contact me at 864-706-3336

Just curious on the outcome today. Was there a lot of damage or did everyone play nice?

WHEN A MISCONCEPTION IS A GREAT LOSS. NASCAR HALL OF FAME

Administrative

Tim,

You hit the nail on the head. The trip was well worth it and I am sure to do it again. Thanks for writing a great piece on the Hall. It was great to see all the old items that walked you through time in a great sport.

I can tell you that I meet more and more people from the sport of racing whether a fan or an actual member and there are always people to brag about. Thanks again for inviting me to spend the day with a great bunch of people. I can not wait until the next event so I can meet more people that I will be proud and honored to call my friend.

Thanks to everyone for taking time to get together.

Hunter and I will keep them in our prayers. We had such a good time with them and it is hard to believe he can have anything wrong with him. Most out going guy I have met in awhile.

Petty Door and Fender

General

I am looking to see if anyone can help me figure out what car my door and fender came from. The fender is from a 71-74 Charger. There is a petty Enterprises sricker on the fender and a Hurst decal at the front. There appears to be two numbers on the door the first is a 7. The second looks like it is a 4, but it is hatd to see. The colors are petty colors, but are a little faded.

Did Petty build a car for someone else? Any help would be appreciated.

I will try to post photo.

Why after all of these years would there be a reason not to know what happened to my dad? I have heard that Gary Balough would know something but he is in prison and has not answered my letters. Can you tell me who told you to back off?
