ARCA RACE IN TALLADEGA TODAY
Current NASCAR
Dave, you're exactly right. Without the SAFER Barrier it would probably have been a fatality.

FOX does have a way of commenting on her performance even when she is 28th, two laps down. Oh, well, what can you expect from the Waltrip mentality?
Go Daddy, the sponsor for Danica Patrick her entire NASCAR Cup career, announced this morning that they are ending her sponsorship at the end of this season when their contract expires. I'm sure you can find plenty of places to read all the details but the bottom line, used by Go Daddy, appears to be they want international interest in their product and NASCAR isn't providing that. Good cover don't you think? Much more cover than Danica usually has on when not in a firesuit.
Maybe she can pick up 5-Hour Spinenergy.
And I am one of those who publicly stated Kurt's career was over. I was assuming the attitude of political correctness and NASCAR's record for never getting things wrong (insert laughs here) would prevent Kurt from ever getting a good ride again. He did it, and, Johnny as you state, he did it in style. I am happy for him and for Gene Haas. I love it when someone believes in someone enough to give them another chance.
We, the public, will never really know what happened between Kurt and that woman. To me, they are both crazy, but Kurt can drive a race car and she can't. I'm not a Kurt Busch fan, but right is right and it is right to have him back behind the wheel. I was wrong and I admit it. He is back. In the meantime, where is Ms. Driscoll?
Well, that's Leon and Bill, two of the best. Dave, I assume you are still unable to make it over and that'sa pity. I don't feel even half as famous when you aren't there.
As has been stated, RacersReunion is planning another NASCAR Hall of Fame "Official" get-together on Saturday, May 9th. We will meet at the main entrance between 10 and 10:15 a.m. for a tour of the Hall and then lunch together (on your own) at the Wild Wings located as a part of the Hall of Fame. I have spoken with Buz McKim and he has told me we can get a group rate on admission but I must know how many are going to attend so I am asking you please to either comment below, or e-mail me at legendtim83@yahoo.com , or here on the site, before May 2nd, so I can let Buz know.
Thank you and I am looking forward to the day in Charlotte.
Tim
I had a little extra time today between things I had to do, so I scrolled down to the "Blog" posts, which I rarely seem to do. Folks, you need to go read what is there. So really great memories and stories. Larry Olson has shared some really good writing with us.
Also, for those of you who don't realize it, there is a "Home Page" for the site where you can also find contributions, although admittedly most are my Legendtorials, but there are other writings also posted there. May find something that really strikes a chord with you.
I am going to remind folks that on Saturday,May 9, 2015, we have the RacersReunion "Official visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. We have done this several times and it has always been a real treat to share conversation and memories with those fans, young and old, who join us. I hope many will come this time. Just e-mail me for more information.
Lastly, Saturday, May 16th will be an important day. There will be a fund raising benefit for our own Mike Skyes held at The Richard Petty Musuem in Level Cross, NC. Watch for additional information on this event because there is much for the fans to enjoy on that day.
Ok, that's it for today. God bless us everyone!
Honor the past, embrace the present, and dream for the future.
Got a note from Bill. He is home after two days of all kinds of tests, he says. He also states he got no sleep. He also indicated he may either suffered a TIA (mini-stroke) or may have inhaled some wasp spray when he was trying to kill some wasps behind his garage. He appreciates everyone's prayers and concerns and states he'll be back on the site next week. Still awaiting results on a couple of tests.
Thoughts and prayers for my buddy, Bill McPeek. Hope he recovers quickly.
So true Larry. I always make it a point to shake the hand of anyone in military uniform and thank them for their service. Everyone, every single one of them, is so humble. They are truly heroes for what they do.
