If I have learned nothing else about this world of racing, however, is that money talks, especially talks loud and clear to the Pettys. Be that as it may, I will not pull for a Toyota even if Richard returns to drive it.

Seriously though, I recently read that Saturday night is the least watched night for television of any night, no matter what is on. Nevertheless, NASCAR insists of scheduling more and more Saturday night races. Figure that out. Going way back in time, however, I remember that "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island" were back-to-back on Saturday nights and were both a huge success. Obviously, though, a tall dude in a totally white three piece suit standing next to a midget with a terrible accent who had a passion for spotting "De Plane" made for better television than certain Kentucky dummies we are forced to endure.
I'll let this one pass. I was going to do D.W., but couldn't find a horse's rear end on which to stack that disgusting hair of D.W. Thought about doing Mikey, but putting lipstick on a pig does not change the fact that it's a pig. As for Danica, anything with clothes on is a change for her.
Andrew, I am not personally familiar with Hugh Babb having worked on single seat open wheelers, but I guarantee you someone on this site will know for sure. If he did, someone on this site will have pictures of the cars. Great group of historians here and there are a couple who have posted Hugh Babb stories. Have you checked "Clubs" for a Hugh Babb Club? I should have done that before starting this response. Good luck in your efforts.

I am very happy to have been able to watch this. I have believed, from day one, that the Mayfield story was another one of NASCAR's Nazi-like actions akin to what they did to Tim Richmond. As much as I love NASCAR racing, the iron hand with which it is ruled sometimes doesn't equate to "good ole boys" values. I believed Jeremy at the time, I believe him now. Sad that there is no way the truth will ever come out and be accepted as we know what happens to those who dare to defy the rulers of NASCAR.

It is with a great deal of sorrow that I post this notice. I was informed just a few minutes ago that J. B. Day has passed away. Many of us here at RR knew Mr. Day as someone who revered the history of this sport as do we. He held an annual get-together each June to bring the pioneers of the sport together with fans. In fact, the event this year was set for Sunday, June 1st. No further information is available at this time as to funeral arrangements but I will post same here when available.
God bless the Day family and all the hundreds of friends.
