Jerry Sims
"Greased Lightning"
Another one of Wendell's ex-Holman Moody rides that he used to good advantage in his racing carreer. Sometimes getting lost in the shuffle with the Factory teams, Wendell went about his business and didn't make waves. But his business was racing and he was very good at what he did, finishing ahead of better funded factory drivers more often than not. In fact, in the '66 season when he ran this car, he finished sixth in the standings, ahead of Bobby Allison, Fred Lorenzen and defending champion Ned Jarrett.
I don't know alot about Wendell, but I admire for what he accomplished and how he made what he had work!
