Third annual New Year's Day Tobacco Bowl at Bowman Gray Stadium 1957.
This was actually the first of these events that made the January 1st date without getting postponed due to bad weather.
Carl Burris won the event breaking Curtis Turner's win streak of the first two Tobacco Bowls in '55 and '56.

Jack, I'm sorry to say I don't have the full field results but I do have a post race newspaper article that might have more than the top ten. I'll try and find it and post it tonight and send you a copy.
