I was at the 1965 Indy 500 and watched the Lotus car dominate. I had no idea that Bobby's 83 was detuned for the race, although I believe Colin Chapman wanted Jim Clark to win of the two drivers. Jim Clark led 190 of 200 laps and ran away with it. Wonder what would have happened if Bobby Johns had full power out of his Lotus Ford. He didn't seem too happy about it in his interview Tuesday Night.

That we are Robbie. I don't know if you caught Bobby's interview by Jeff on Tuesday nite, but it was outstanding. He talked about the 1965 Indy race and said he was contacted directly by Chapman to drive the second Lotus. John Holman was upset about it because he was running Charlotte. Bobby said it was a once in a lifetime chance so he went to Indy. His car was detuned for the race which didn't make Bobby happy, even though he finished 7th. He also said that the Lotus team had a quick fill fuel inlet which made the pit stops very quick. The Wood Bros. get all the credit for the quick stops, but fuel would just pour in much, much faster than anyone else.I enjoy seeing the Lotus colors on the track again, brings back all those great memories. I try and catch all the Indycar races, but I miss them once in a while and Robbie keeps me updated.Go Lotus!! and hallelujah.
