Tuesday night, the radio show "Racin' The Way It Was" was honored to have Bobby Allison as a guest for almost 45 minutes. At the end of the time with Bobby, as I am prone to do, I made some rather personal comments to Bobby. Before the show was over I had received an e-mail from one party and a text from another. In essence, the contents were:
TEXT MESSAGE: Love the way you talk with these great drivers honoring them with your memories and feelings. Keep up the good work.
E-MAIL: Expressing your personal feelings and preferences as a host on a radio talk show is unprofessional and uncalled for. While I enjoy the show, your emotional sidebars are not necessary.
I am what I am. I am a race fan from a long time back. I have very personal feelings about the history, the men and women associated with it and such things just come out of me when I'm talking with these guys. Our show has had some of the greats on with us and what I say comes from the heart.
All of you who listen to the show, let me know what you think. Those of you who don't listen, give it a shot next Tuesday but think about this; if you had a chance to express your deep admiration and appreciation to someone who has been such a part of your life, would you do it? Would you do it for all the world to hear? I probably won't change, because that's just who I am. But I respect your opinions, at least most of you.
Thanks,
Tim

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
