Lol...What actually haoppened was that for their entry into stock car racing....these good ol boys showed the japs how to make a small fortune racing...you start with a large one....I can hear Mikey Waltrip now...just keep sending the dollars boys, we'll get em goin fast soon. Hey what dsoes Mikey know about building cars....toyota is with some good teams now. But I do believe that NASCAR might overlook a few things to help out the underdog. I was on one of the first Dodge Truck teams....that truck didn't fit a single template....but we got through inspection every time. It's NASCARS circus...they get to choose the clowns...those are the rules...haven't changed.

Toyota didn't waist their time with the old car they were working on the COT the whole time. They picked the perfect time to jump in unlike when Dodge decided that they wanted to try to race again. And really all you got to say is JOE GIBBS. He went with Toyota b/c he was never a manufacturers owner before and Toyota said that he was their guy. Lets not forget that Kyle Busch is probably pissed that he got booted from Hendricks Racing and he is trying to show everyone that he can drive a car. Look at last season when they annouced he was getting fired, he started to drive his pants off after that.

I agree with you Bobby, let me take it a step further. Unless the rules have changed before NASCAR accepted a body style or engine it must be stock production and at least 500 units maunfactured to be sold. I myself as a professional auto mechanic have "NEVER" seen a Toyota V-8 engine, with OHV (overhead valve) and carbureted. I have never seen nothing on any racing shows or channels what this power plant looks like! AS far as the way Toyota has been tearing up the circuit this year confuses me also, after last years flop, i mean the truck program was doing well why not the cup series? I would love to know the answer also. As for who got paid off, I have disenchanted with NASCAR since 81, they took the raciong from the people who supported it in the early years, there is an ol saying "Bill France gets whatever he wants" NASCAR use to be fan friendly, they will find out if they are not now, they turned the old LMS (late model sportsman) into busch, Nationwide, whatever the ehll they call it now, they don't run Hickory, Martinsville ( Cardinal and Dogwood classic was a weekend of GREAT racing) and South Boston. You don't hear nothing about the Modified tour anymore just the 3 touring series!!!!!! See, NASCAR is not for the people anymore it is so commercialised it is not funny, just 200mph billboards!!!!

Hi Guys - well it seems Hendrick has lost it's edge this year. But even with Gibbs there is no parady, Stewart doesn't seem to have the steam the others do. No wonder he's looking for somewhere else to go. I'd like to see him team up with Robby Gordon and form Gordon/Stewart Racing. I think they both drive the wheels off everything, and just need more funding on both their parts to get going. Tony sure can't be happy at Gibbs right now. And there's no parady in the engines at Everham either, Khane seems to have it, and the others don't - Robby has had fair powerplants this season, only one engine failure, but he needs the bucks to improve performance. I must give a lot of credit to Joe Gibbs Racing. However, I also think Toyota stepped up their program and also I honestly believe NASCAR has given them a lot of breaks to have them where they are in the points chase. NASCAR has over looked a lot where penalties and fines could have and should have been levied against Kyle Busch and the #18 team for actions detrimental to others on and off the track. Some of his moves were out of line and NASCAR just kept their mouth shut. All I want to see is consistency in how NASCAR deals with all teams, drivers and owners. NASCAR waited way too long before testing the HP on the Toyota's. Half the season has almost passed and the damage has been done. Too many good teams have been cheated out of a fair chance for the chase IMHO!

It sure seems that Toyota is paying somebody off. I can't believe that they all the sudden became competitive without help. I'll be t Brian and the gang are looking the other way on some things. Also. why hasn't Mr. Busch been called to the carpet for his driving and threats of wrecking others to win. To me , that's not talent nor is champion like behavior, that is a spoiled brat. He wants respect from everybody but doesn't believe in giving it in return. As far as the lack of parity in the Gibbs teams, Kyle is clearly favored. He said after getting canned by Hendrick last year that he wanted an owner who put him first. Well, he got that from Gibbs. Again, he doesn't think he should have earn anything, it should be given to him because he wants it!

I can sum up the reason why Tony Stewart is running the way he is this season in one word, POLITICS.

The biggest clown of them all is a man named Kyle Busch. You know that he and his team is getting away with a lot. Grease the right palms and lots of things get overlooked. I don't care what you drive, you can win races if you get away with using the right parts. Remember the days when everyone was having fits when Team Petty was running the 426 Hemi? Someone slipped something extra into a toyota rubber band engine, and look what happened! Kyle, here's hoping your rubber band breaks!

Gale, it looks like Kyle's rubber band might be breaking! The broken suspension part last week and a 43rd finish at Dover today! Looks like old saying "Reap what you sow" might be coming into play at the most critical time. He still has alot of growing up to do!I read somewhere else earlier that he wouldn't get back in the car today after his crew worked on it. I don't know if that's the case as I wasn't watching the race today. However, if that's true, he doesn't deserve a ride at all. His crew worked to that car going and he don't even have enough to get back in it and do his part after the crew did their part. He did the same thing at Hendrick last year and look what happened. Dale Jr. got in it and turned some laps and Kyle wonders why Rick let him go.Someone should tell that boy he needs to clean up his attitude. NOBODY owes him anything and he needs to get of his high horse. It's time for the little boy to grow up and be a man!

PAY ATTENTION FELLOWS, WHICH ORGANIZATION IS IT WHOSE TOYOTAS ARE WINNING? IT AIN'T MIKEY WALTRIP, AND IT AINT RED BULL AND IT AIN'T BILL DAVIS. ALL OF THAT $$$$$ THAT WAS SPENT LAST YEAR IS NOW GOING INTO WHAT THE THREE AFORE MENTIONED TEAMS' MEMBERS REFER TO AS "THE BLACK HOLE"........JOE GIBBS. HE WHO PRODUCES RESULTS GETS THE GOLD IN THIS BUSINESS.

OH YES....TONY STEWART......BIG CHEVY MAN.....HAS NOT SAID ONE WORD ALL YEAR IN AN INTERVIEW ABOUT TOYOTA. IT'S BREAKIN' HIS HEART THAT HE'S IN A ROCKETSHIP AND CAN'T WIN (POLITICS- PRESSURE FROM CHEVY). TOYOTA IS LEADING IN THE MANUFACTURERS' POINT DEAL RIGHT NOW, CHEVY (THRU RICK HENDRICK) IS GOING TO SPEND ALOT OF $$$ TO GET THE NEW STEWART TEAM GOING NEXT YEAR. THEY EXPECT THEIR MAN STEWART TO NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE THEM LOOK BAD. HENDRICK CARS/ENGINES/ ENGINEERING SUPPORT (DARIAN GRUBB)...........RICK'S 5TH AND SIXTH TEAMS. JUST LIKE ROUSH OWNS YATE'S TEAMS....DOUG JUST DOES MOTORS FOR ALL OF THE FORDS. THE REASON ROBERT WALKED AWAY WAS THAT HE WASN'T GONNA WORK FOR JACK ROUSH........THAT WAS THE DEAL IF HE WANTED TO KEEP FORD'S SUPPORT....FACT.

I don't care what kind of attitude a driver has as long as he wins races. Kyle has done just that. 19 in three different series this season to be exact. GO ROWDY!!!

I think the dream team would be Jimmy Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, and Kevin Harvick. in Chevy Impalas! Now That would be impressive! Toyota should be sent back to Japan where it came from. I am not a rice burner fan. Dodges have the potential of being good cars, as well! Everybody is forgetting Sterling Marlin and Ward Burton!

I noticed that The kid was in a mood after the race yesterday, when he copped an attitude with the interviewer. Way to go Mr. Busch! Great P.R.! I ALMOST feel sorry for him. ALMOST. Everyone else had the attitude that "We'll keep on trying!" I think that Coach Gibbs should paddle that brat! In a way, I can understand why Tony Stewart wants to get away from that!

Well.........don't know about a payoff but.........I do know that Big Bill Sr. is probably rolling over in his grave right now after seeing a Toyota at Daytona !! Didn't he say something to the effect of "" no foreign cars , only american made stock cars '' and that "" no auto maker was going to dictate terms to Nascar "" ....... guess the France Family finally just sold out.......?? Ya reckon ? Now , we all know RACIN' just ain't what it used to be....

So sad...but true. But they have a long way to go to equal the contributions of American auto makers. The US has a 100 year headstart.
