Ard Takes SoBo April 18, 1982
The first race at Virginia's South Boston Speedway for NASCAR's new Budweiser Late Model Sportsman 2nd tier touring series was the April 18, 1982 Busch 200. South Carolinian Sam Ard was first to the checkers in SoBo's first race in the new division, winning over Jack Ingram, Jimmy Hensley and Ray Hendrick. Photo from South Boston Speedway Facebook page.
