Sonny Mallory operated the famous Mallory's Speed Shop on The Boulevard in Richmond, Virginia for many years. During the 60s-70s he always had a parts truck at Southside Speedway on Friday night and South Boston Speedway on Saturday night. He had everything on that truck a Modified or Late Model Sportsman racer needed. Sonny was a HUGE man, weighing in around 350 lbs or so. He often split his pants at the track and would always joke that he'd just had another blowout! If there was a big race at Martinsville, Trenton, Langhorne, Old Dominion, Beltsville, etc., Sonny and his parts truck would be there. His fame extended far beyond his Richmond home base. Because of his huge girth and reputation for honesty, he was promoted as "The Round Man with the Square Deal." The ad below from Sonny appears in the June 1969 issue of Stock Car Racing Magazine:
