On the positive side of things, they do have a few games on their website that are pretty fun and they are free!

I doubt that you will find anybody in favor of this other than a Kyle Busch fan. It would almost be a criminal act to do this in my mind and I think it would cause the history books to be re-written. Where would it stop? Would we then have to consider wins at all Nascar sanctioned tracks in any division including Late Models? If that were the case then the King would drop like a rock down the list. Yes,Kyle Busch is fast,he can win alot on Friday and Saturday, but his record on Sunday falls a bit short of greatness. He still has alot of improving to do on that day.I did not see the discussion on Speed but did any one of those guys really come out in favor of doing this? I know Kyle Petty would not so that leaves KW and JR. Tell me it isn't so! They can think what they want but the truck series and the Nationwide series is definitly NOT the Cup series.Long live the King !
Tim, I would suppose it would be because of safety as driving in the other direction would expose the cars to drivers side impact with the wall and they would be carrying left side weight on the outside going through the corners. I am sure the cars would not handle very well always trying to turn right with all that left side weight. Now if we had right hand drive like the cars on the other side of the pond I am sure it would be a different story.
I will say Amen to that BT. We can not wind back the clock and I agree 100% with your thoughts.
Jerry, that is really in the WAY COOL category. Thank you to everyone involved in this program for what you do for short track racers. I really enjoy the program and I really appreciate the interviews covering all classes of short track racers, especially the support classes that rarely get any recognition from other forms of media. RacersReunion.com and the programs associated with it are absolutely the very best friends of stock car racing. Once again a very sincere "Thank You" forall thatyou do!
Man,they will be throwing victory parties all the way from Lynchburg to Stuart,Va. and beyond.Congrats to The entire Wood Brothers organization and all of their faithful supporters including our own RR pal Harlowe Reynolds.Trevor Bayne is a veryimpressive young man in his ability to drive, his interviews, but mostly his Faith. Very refreshing to see.
I was not in the room for any of the conversations about what was going on at DEI and fairly sure that ya'll arefussing about mostly what was printed in the mostly onesided media. Heres a couple of facts for you to chew on. Dale Jr has won 18 cup races. That puts him somewhere about 38th on the all time list. That means only 37 drivers have won more races than Jr since Nascar began. Now I know there has been a many a driver to strap in and give it a go so that would seem to make him fairly decent judging on his record. He just hasn't faired so well as of late, mostly since Eury Sr isn't in the picture and since Dale Sr left us. Those alone are pretty good reasons for his performance level dropping. We can only speculate. Whatever the reason,I admire him for even showing up with all the pressure on him,he gives a pretty good interview most of the time, he is pretty humble and doesn't have too much bad to say about anybody when he speaks. As for Kyle, yea he's a real good wheel man,but his attitude is far short of someone that I could root for on Sundays. What you bring to the table as a human beingmeans far more to me than how well you point a race car.If all it took was being the best wheel man then Kyle should win the championship every year until a better wheel man comes along, but since alot more is required,(check out that 48 team)then Kyle comes up pretty short as far as I am concerned. It's pretty easy to criticize when you don't have to walk in thier shoes. Try looking at them as human beings instead of some super power and you realize they are just like us, living day to day trying to be the best at whatthey do,some are just a little better than others. That's my take on Kyle and Jr.
With love through my savior Jesus Christ

Patty I did not for once denounce Teresa in her input on building DEI. That girl stood beside Dale through thick and thin to get where they were when he died. The only thing I didnt like was she did not want anything to do with the joint venture that Dale and Kelly wanted. I also think that Kerry was in on that venture, Taylor was tucked under Teresa's wing at that point so she was immediatly taken care of. The whole thing I think is being steered by another hand unknown to at least me. Thats my take on the matter so you and Earnest get outta the dog house and back on the porch with the rest of us.

Junior...not so much. He is average, by my reckoning, but has done alright for himself in many respects. And yes...I realize what he has lost; more than most folks could know. So many demanding fans pounced on him when Dale was taken away, telling him, in short, that he must fill the gap left by his Daddy. I never joined that throng. Despite the like name, there was, and is, only one Dale Earnhardt...the original. Junior will never be Dale, and I have never expected that of him. It is...in my humble opinion...unfair of his "Nation" to ask it of him either.
Now then...regarding your statement about Teresa having "turned" on Brenda's offspring...
It's hard to express how very much I agree with what Ernest had to say. Teresa was the love of Dale's life. They built DEI together, and if and when it came to Dale not being here, it is just for dang sure that it was never intended to go to two of his children (Dale Jr. and Kelley), while excluding the other two (Kerry and Taylor Nicole).
Believe it or not, I have lost friends...ones that I considered GOOD friends...because they put down Teresa Earnhardt. The simple fact that Dale chose her is good enough for me. Dale had a will. He did NOT leave DEI to two of his kids...he wisely left it to Teresa, the love of his life. When asked, Dale always said that ALL of his business life was in her hands. Dale was not a business man. He was a racecar driver...and a farmer. Anything to do with numbers and contracts was handled by Teresa...and we have Dale's word on that.
If Brenda's "children"...the ones she gave up when she saw money in their future...wanted DEI, it quite possibly might have been for sale, and that was put on the table at the time. They didn't want to buy it...they wanted it given to them...to the exclusion of Kerry and Taylor.
Sorry, but I find that indefensible, and frankly, unpalatable as well. And NO...that isn't bashing. Just the facts...and nothing but the facts.
Ernest...is there room for two in that doghouse?

Well Jim, since I have only seen a couple of responses and nearly all have been in disapproval of the race and Nascar in general, I suppose tv ratings for the 500 are in the tank and the grandstands will probably be close to empty on Sunday. Naw,that isn't going to happen. Everybody complaining will be sitting in front of the TV watching just like always wishing it was 1979 all over again. Folks, the reality is, time and innovation has passed these big old tracks by. When Big Bill started all of this they were running bone stock race cars. They are turning over 9500 rpm's in the draft now in purpose built racing machines. Can we really expect them to turn these things loose at over 200 mph and not expect disaster. 10 years ago this weekend this sport changed forever. If any of you wached the show about the"DAY" then you could obviously see the emotion that these people carry still today. They are human too. I really have no desire to see any other driver lose their lifeor ability to do what they do at these super speedways any more so I applaud Nascars efforts to keep it under 200 and unfortunately the quality of racing is probably going to suffer.I am old enough to remember racing in the 70' and 80's and truthfully it wasn't really all that much better.Do you remember when Ford teams would whine until they got an advantage and then Chevy teams would have their turn and then Dodge.Oh I almost forgot,we hadOldsmobiles, Buicks, and Pontiacs too.Do you remember when there were no Dodges? This sport has been an ever changing evolution since the beginning,we just have selective memeories. At the beginning of those races only a handful of drivers really had a chance of winning and several races were pure runaway events. For this race you could pick 5 drivers that could win and you would probably be wrong. In 1975 you could pick 5 drivers and probably be right.I see the problem as time is passing us by and we really would like it to be like it was when we were younger. It's not the racing we hadback then but it is what we have now, I remember so vividly the day Dale won this race, that was probably the very best Daytona 500 ever to me,not for the race itself,it wasn't that much different than any other, but it was the emotion of seeing him achieve the dream,so I will be in front of the tv Sunday with bells on,loving every minute of it because I know I will see somebody do something spectacular, and maybe even see Mark or Bill pull off a miracle and beat these young whippersnappers.Do you remember the year Bill made up 3 laps under green and won? Man,all the Chevy fans thought that stunk, they whined and cried for days. The reality is,I still love the sport and I am addicted to stock cars just like all of you. I will find the good, find peace with the bad and thank God we still have something, even if it is not what it was way back when! Thanks for putting up with my longwindedness and I truly hope you can find some satisfaction and hang on to those memories of what it was because now "it is what it is" or whatever Nascar decides it is going to be.
Thesad truth is, most of us here at RR long for the way it was, but I remember lots of folks complaining about somebody locking up the championship too early most years. That's why we have this rediculous chase format now. Thereal truth is,it is impossible to please everybody which means somebody will always be complaining no matter what.Big Bill and Little Bill are gone and all we have left is the trickle down effect and what's trickling down is not a good example of what the forefathers had in mind. It kind of reminds me of what has happened in our country. Mr Washington and Mr Jefferson would surley be disappointed in where we are and what we have become and I am pretty sure Big Bill and LittleBill would feel the same about the sad shape of NASCAR.
Sure,he has the talent,he has the support team and all the tools to be the champ, but he has yet develop the attitude that is required. He will have to learn to deal with the media as they are going to push him harder because they are looking to get under his skin at every opportunity.Until he develops the mental toughness to deal with adversity then he willcontinue to fail in his quest to be the champ, and I say he will never match what Richard,Dale, and now what Jimmie has achieved.Until he gets the attitude fixed he will just be a good racer with a bad attitude and I say to that,SO WHAT.Besides, everybody knows by now that they will have to go through the 48 team and the 48 teamwill not lay down. Denny came close and that team has the talent as well, but the 48 team proved again, even with the problems they had they refuse to let any team out there out work them. Somebody will have to have some really good fortune and the 48 will have to have some bad fortune for somebody to take it away.Kevin Harvick had an outstanding year and he has all the tools as well. Truth is,none of us knows who will win, that's why they race.Who would have thought Kevin Harvick would have been the points leader going into the Chase last year other than a Harvick fan? He would have won it under the old format.Good luck to all and congrats in advance to the winner, most likely somebody other than Kyle Busch.I say it's easier to beat 41 other teams than it is to beat the 48.
