Winning does not make you very popular, just ask Jimmie Johnson. I believe Dale Jr would be less popular if he won more.

Brad Daugherty's Comment About Brad Kesolowski's Championship

Current NASCAR

If he wants to know if BK is for real, all he has to do is ask the 48 team. I am sure Carl Edwards and even Kurt Busch could comment on that as well.Brad out-performed Kurt in the same car and just look how BK has grown since Carl educated him at Atlanta. BK is his own man and he is for real. He comes from good racing family stock and has made the most of his opportunity. The Blue Duece team has been amazing all year. Not too many thought they had a chance this year. Congrats to the Captain,BK, the whole Miller Light team and Dodge!

Thanks for the support PK, and a special shout out to you for what you do for RR. We haven't always agreed on things but that is what makes this place special. We can disagree about some things yet we always stick together when the going gets tough. Kinda like family Ma!(wink)

CAMPING WORLD TRUCKS TO RUN GREENVILLE-PICKENS IN 2013

I don't know about the fans Mr Gibbons talks about as far as what they want to see ( I have not seen very many fans at any of the truck races this year, last year or the the year before)but the ones I talk to and hang out with are going to fill the place up when they get back on the real short tracks. I am thankful they would even consider what is important to us. Some folks need to realize that the folksbuying the tickets matter. Maybe it's time to reel in some of the cost to compete in these series and just get back to old fashioned racing. The realtruth is, ifyou were in it for the fun of it then you would probably be at a short track racing an entry level or even a vintage car where it's about the love of the sport and not who you rub elbows with or how you can spend money tobuy your way past the next guy. This sport used to be about talent but now it's about who is pretty enough for the sponsorsand has truck loads of money behind them. That goes for Late Models all the way up to the Cup Series. The water has been so poluted by money that I am pretty sure we can never see it like it should be, I don't care what track they put them on but at least the short tracks and dirt tracks are better than mega seat speedways. Mr Gibbons,I will address this at you directly. You car and truck owners spend money like it's water running from a spigut. What cost less,a few more tires and a little bit of sheet metal or the whole car wadded up in a ball on super speedways caught up in the big one? I think your cost theory is a bunch of bull butter. As far as your expensive engines, I am sure one can be made to last for 2 or 3 races on a short track as opposed to 1 on a speedway and I know a short track engine cost is less than a speedway engine. You for sure will save some money on the fuel bill. Why does this sport need to be about money instead of hard work and talent ? Why has this become the American way ? I am all for getting back to our roots. We might even see some low budget Saturday night gunslinger show up and prove the little guy can overcome money with hard work and talent. It's kind of like the Yankees in baseball, anybody can spend money, but sometimes hard work and talent can overcome!

Brad &@#$ Keselowski

Current NASCAR

Folks, BK is from Michigan. MY wife's family is from Michigan,so trust me when I say this, folks up there talk like this alot. It is just normal for them. Not saying it is right,it's just what they do. As for the championship, Go BK, Iam a huge Jimmie Johnson fan,I think the work ethic on the 48 team is second to none, but if they are going to finish second then I could think of none better than the 2 team. They have been fantastic all year and if they get this done then it is well deserved. In 2007 I guess Dale Jr saw something that most didn't when he picked BK todrive the88 Navy carfor himin the Busch Seriesand gave him a chance to prove to the world how good BK really is. BK is a blue collar guy from a blue collar family and it is just plain fun to watch him work. Just when you think he has no chance he once again proves you wrong and flat out gets the job done. It must be awesome for his father Bob to watch his son perform like this. There is alot more to this story than just what you see on the track on race day.I am sure Dave can dig us up some good Keselowski family stuff. He may be from up north but he reminds me ofa tough, gritty southern kind ofguy.I am sure alot of folks in Michigan find it alot easier to pull for Blue collar BK than "big money" Jack Roush(he's from Michigan too)being that it is a true blue collar state that has been down for a while now. If they get it done for the "Captain", then that will be ok too. He has been around for quite a while now and deserves to get a little something back for the effort.I am not nearly as concerned about Brad's choice of words asI am about Jeff Gordon's total lack of respect for his fellow competitors and the black flag that was being displayed to him.Let's suppose how his interview would have gone if that was someone besides himself showing a total disregard for the rules.I guess Jeff is starting to feel the pressure of being on downslope of his career.I will be patiently waiting for him to appologize for his total lack of respect and total loss of his senses instead of giving us the sorry excuse of being tired of somebody rubbin' him a little in the heat of the battle. These cars have fenders andto quote another,"he rubbed youand rubbin' son, isracin'".His display yesterdaymade me think he was trying to bring"Days of Thunder" to real life. Instead of bashing some poor choice of words in an interview I think I will just enjoy the feel good story that is unfolding in front of us.Gooooo Brad!

I am giving you a standing ovation! In one day you say good things about MWR and this is a very nicely done piece about the ragged condition of our once very shining sport. Good job and thanks for what you do.
